Tyler's point of view

I wake up in the morning and realize it's my 12th birthday!

I teleport to the door and run downstairs to the kitchen where I open up the cabinets in my mind and take out all the ingredients.

"Eggs, flour, sugar, butter etc" got it

I'm in the middle of making the pancakes when I hear someone trudge down the stairs

"Tyler, what are you doing up so early!" Michael groans, he then looks up and gasps then he says "oh I forgot about your powers"

Few minutes later I have eggs, bacon, sausages, toast, pancakes, and much more on the table and we are pigging out, then the boys come downstairs yadda yadda, I suddenly remember,

"Um boys can I please be excused, I'm full and want to get dressed"

"Ok" Ashton or dad replies

I walk up the stair and teleport to my room and lock the door.

I run over to my drawers and rummage through them until I find a little grey box with a worn out white ribbon wrapped around it

I open the balcony doors and take in the fresh smell of the ocean nearby and the city line of the city

I climb up on the railing and dangle my feet over the ledge, I look down and see about a 20 ft drop, so this house was made on a hill, I take the box out of my sweat shirt pocket and examine it carefully, turning it around, flipping it over, you name it

I slowly pull off the ribbon careful not to break it.

After the ribbons pulled off I tie it in my beast bun and start to open up the box, inside is a necklace and note

"Dear Tyler,
I hope you are reading this right now and are living a a warm loving home and is safe and warm, I am so sorry that I have never left your father and put you through all that pain, happy birthday baby, I love you very much and I am so sorry I can not see you there opening this gift, by now you may have found out that you have powers, when I was pregnant with you I was kidnapped and put under testing, when I was found they found something wrong with you but wouldn't tell me what, later when you were born they told me you were abnormal, little did I know you were this remarkable human being, the doctors said that I had to give you these pills no matter what, no that you have powers you can save other people, you may blame yourself about my death but I am in a better place right now, 'please don't cry, please dry your tears, the dark clouds will fade away and we will see the sun again, rest your head my little one and everything will be all right' (song her mother used to sing to her) I love you baby.

I sit on the railing reading the note, i choke out sobs "mom, please come back, I need you," I choke out more sobs "the song, please come back mom."

I pull out the necklace, a simple silver chain necklace with a pinkie finger nail sized diamond hanging off the end, I slip the necklace around my neck and hook it, sitting there holding the necklace crying I think about me and my mother.

I'm interrupted by my thoughts the my door ripping open and Ashton running over to me and pulling me off the railing

He's about to yell at me before he see's me crying. he asks what wrong and all I can manage out are chokes and sobs and I hand him the note

He looks back at me after reading the note and with tears in his eyes hugs me with all his might

"Don't worry baby girl, I will be the best dad ever and you will always be safe."
