After a minute of standing in his room he went downstairs where his father was still passed out on the sofa. Richard snuck to the kitchen and grabbed some ramen noodles, they were dry.. and they would be his breakfast. He didn't have money to pay for any breakfast and the cafeteria wasn't open yet.. so he normally ate them raw.
When Richard arrived at school, he walked in, hunched over and and afraid. He was afraid of the seniors that liked to bully him. One of them had been Brock, a handsome looking senior that seemed to get all the girls attention. The teenager finally arrived at his locker as he opened it. It was empty, nothing special to put in there besides books. Why would there be? Mom died young, brother in college, and a drunk dad. So..nothing really to show.
Richard put a few books into his locker and shut it, trudging away awkwardly as he glanced at a group of girls and a boy.
...
Brooke Lhost, Chloe Valentine, and..
A sophomore. Dustin Kropp, another girl's cousin. He turned a faint red as he looked at them, they shot a glance Towards the boy which made him walk away faster. When he got to his Homeroom, he took a seat at the front and tapped his foot, shifting his color blind glasses quite a bit soon, two more boys walked in.
Michael Mell, and his best friend, Jeremy Heere. They sat right next to richard Chatting away happily. Jeremy soon glanced at Richard, a light blush across his face "hey, Richard!!" Jeremy greeted, fixing his glasses as he tilted his head.
Richard turned a bright red, looking at Jeremy.. he.. he felt something for him.. but didn't quite understand it. "H..hello, Jeremy!-" he replied. "Are you excited for theater?" He asked, doing the ":3" face. Richard nodded a few times. "T—totally!! We— are we still up for DND after???" Jeremy nodded, patting rich on the shoulder as he turned back to the class. Richard wasn't the closest of friends with the two but.. they were decent aquatints' that played games together sometimes.
Well.. and Jeremy was the one to give Richard his old chest binder due to not having money.
The morning passed by normally, during Richard's musical theatre class he left the class briefly to go to the restroom. He was about to head into the stall... when...
Thud
Richard got up and dusted himself off, praying his glasses were okay as he looked around, eyes landing on a teen leaning on a stall. Brock. "So, Lame-Ranski. What's for lunch? The same Ol nothing? The poor baby can't afford any food eh?" The senior tormented him. Richard teared up a bit and glanced away, nodding as he sighed and looked up at Brock. "Yes.. why?" Brock sneered and pinned Richard against the wall. "Because.. I know of something that might interest you, Lameass." Richard grew curious, looking at Brock still as he asked, "..what is it?" Brock kept it short and sweet, looking down at him as he spoke, "Payless shoes in the back. $600. It'll change your life."
That's all Brock said.. but Rich's eyes gleamed with hope. It can change his life..? He had to get it.
