After a day or two of resting and learning how to actually tie shoes, and I'm not going to name any names but that certain someone also has black eyes... Tom, Matt and their little tatter tot were driving back home, tho Tom looked a bit more sad then usual... Matt fixed the mirror on their new sleeping daughter in the back seat in her small carrier, and smiled gently, before his eyes glanced over to his gloomy looking husband.
"Hey doll, what's up? You look like your candy stash got ruined." Toms glare went from the window to Matt as he shook his head and softly sighed, before he frowned at Matt. "Matt, do you think I'll be a good daddy? I mean... I didn't even know how to tie her shoes, let alone breastfeed her." Matt paused as his eyes went back to focusing on the road, and he scratched his neck signaling to the other that he was thinking of a response that won't make Tom scared to even look at little Tot. "Well, I mean... she is our first child. Hell, I'm scared that I might mess up but in all honesty, messing up is part of parenthood. This might sound stupid, but I was scared to even hold her, and when you said you were in labor I was scared to pick you up and put you in the car, I was afraid I would hurt the little one somehow, and you mentally." Tom stared at Matt for awhile, before he leaned back into his chair. "When we get home... can we watch spongebob?" Matt then let out a small chuckle as he shook his head, a bit relieved that Tom still had that part of him still there. To be honest, he should've expected that the boy would just grow up into a man child. After they got home, since it was raining Matt had to make a bunch of constant returns to the car with the umbrella, first for Tom, then for the sleeping baby, and then for the overnight and baby bags in the back. Once he got his daughter out of her baby carrier, he paused for a moment as he held the soft small drooling ball of orange in his arms. Tom luckily brought the purple and orange onesies with him, and since Tot had orange hair like Matt's, he thought that the opportunity was too cute to pass up on, and Matt was glad he did what he did. "Admiring the best fruit of the bunch?" Tom chuckled as he walked over to Matt, and gently stroked Tot's cheeks. "Since when did you learn big boy sentences?" Matt laughed sweetly as Tom puffed out his cheeks like a pufferfish trying to defend itself. "I just watched a bunch of TV shows and movies with you with big boy words in them Matty, why can't you be happy that I'm catching on?" Matt smiled as he gently kissed Toms forehead and sighed. "I know... I was just messing with you." He smiled as he softly kissed Tots cheeks. "If you want... she can watch spongebob with us! I doubt she'll remember it, but I wanna hold her some more..." Matt smiled as the baby started fidgeting, and letting out angry baby noises. Tom sighed as he took her from Matt's grasp and walked over to the kitchen. "Are you hungry? Do you want some french vanilla milk?" "Tom... I highly doubt breast milk tastes like that-" "Matt! How would you know? And I'm too tired to breastfeed her right now, so I'm just going to make her a formula." Tom chuckled as Matt sighed and shook his head, going into the kitchen to put the groceries that they picked up on their way home away. "Should we invite Tord and Edd over with little Demi so the two can have a play date?" Matt smiled as he got out the assorted greens and baby formula, noticing how the brand was 'French Vanilla Milk', tho ironically it was just a normal baby formula. "Hmm... I actually like that idea! Aren't they going to have another one soon tho?" Tom tilted his head as he supported holding the bottle for little Tot as she happily sucked on the bottle with a familiar cartoon character on it...
"Well, yes, I doubt that Tord will come since Edd said when he's around the seventh to ninth month of the pregnancy he usually stays inside. You know how shy he is..." Matt sighed, smiling a bit at remembering the good old days. The last time he saw Tord tho was when the group got together again, and this was after little Demi was born. He was surprised to see how much therapy helped Edd, and himself, tho of course Edd still stuttered here and there, but at least his anxiety eased a bit. After Tot finished her bottle, the two sat on the couch as Matt turned on the TV to the channel where spongebob was on. Tom smiled as he cuddled up next to his husband with their daughter falling asleep, and let out a small sigh. "I'm really happy Matt... I feel really bad now remembering when I hid the pregnancy test from you.. I shouldn't have thought that you would've left me because of a little baby." Matt's glance went from the orange soda he was drinking down to the small boy in his arms, and then his daughter who was situated in a position to where her head was resting on atoms thigh and the rest of her body was on Matt's leg and lap. Tom was also stroking her fluffy orange hair, and Matt just held Toms cheek in his hand and kissed Tom lightly on the lips before he broke away. "You made me really angry when I learned that you saw me as a cliché emo tough guy... but you're just too fucking cute to stay angry at, you're lucky you're the first person that I love this much..." "who's the second person? Tot?" "No, Tots first and a half." Matt then softly chuckled as Tom gently blushed, and leaned against his husband as he held an arm against him. "I think you'll be a fantastic father Tom, you're already a perfect husband." Tom smiled sweetly as he giggled quietly, and went back to stroking his daughters hair. "You really are sweeter then candy Matt..."
"And you're as soft as a marshmallow."
