"Good morning, everyone," I said cheerfully, entering the conference room area.

"You seem awfully happy to be at a conference meeting," Steve said as I set the basket in my hands down.

"Of course she is. It's October now," Tony said, peeking into the basket.

"And the dying leaves are beautiful," I said, smacking his hand away. "Have you started planning my party yet?"

"Oh, you mean the Dais-O-Ween Extravaganza? Not without you," he said, eyeing the basket.

"Great," I said before speaking up to address everyone. "Since I've officially sworn off men and alcohol, my two main pillars of foundation, I've surprisingly had a lot of free time, so I made some pumpkin muffins for everyone." I opened the basket and set it in the middle of the table. I rested my hands on either side of my waist. "Now, I've never really baked anything in my life, so if they suck, please don't tell me to my face. I'm very fragile right now."

"I'm sure they'll be great," Bucky said, grabbing one.

"Just a warning, I did have one and I thought it kind of tasted horrible, but I wasn't about to waste all of these," I said, sitting down near the front of the table, next to Bucky and across from Steve.

"Alright guys, we have a lot to discuss today," Tony said, clapping his hands together. "I'd like to remind everyone living in the tower to not leave their shoes in front of the elevator entryway in the living area. I'm not even sure why you'd take your shoes off in there, but after Bruce tripped and sprained his wrist, I have to tell you guys to stop doing that. The living area is a little damaged from him hulking out, so someone's got to fix it. I'm far too busy to handle that."

"That explains the broken couch," I said under my breath. The couch had been broken for a while, and we assumed it was Sam and Liss, but every time I'd say anything about it to her, she'd freeze up and get embarrassed.

Bucky laughed quietly and shushed me. Tony went on about a few different things and I listened intently as I stared blankly at the wall behind him.

After the whole Cody incident, I decided to take a break from basically everything. The girls and I went to Malibu for a week after I went to a facilitation to get over what had happened with Cody. I know that I'm still not okay, and sometimes it feels like I didn't improve at all, but I didn't like it in there. I pretended to get better as best as I could, and it worked.

After I got out, I set up a domestic violence foundation and spoke out against it whenever I could. It was still a secret between the few people who knew, and it hasn't gotten out to the public. I'd like it to stay that way.

Bucky and I are just friends again. We still talk to each other a lot and hang out, but we just chose to just be friends until we both get more "emotionally stable." Sam, Nat, Steve, Bucky, and Liss have been coming to the apartment to watch baseball games and other things with me. I don't completely get the appeal of it all, but I like to make fun of how into it the others get, and I enjoy the company.
