"Paging Ms. Maeree Kim. Paging Ms. Maeree Kim. Please proceed to the dean's office. Please proceed to the dean's office."
Everyone stopped what they're doing to stare at you. Their eyes full of mocking laughter and countless questions. This would be your third time being called to the dean's office.
"What did you do this time, Maeree?" your friend, SuMi, asked.
"After getting caught sleeping in class and cutting, what's the latest violation?" another gossipmonger asked.
"Beats me." You answered with a shrug.
"It must be the results of our final exams. Did you do well?" Su Mi questioned, her eyes full of worry.
"Nah. I probably failed." You said matter of fact-ly, a devil-may-care tone lacing your voice.
"What?! And you're not even stressing about it?" she inquired, noticing your nonchalant attitude.
"Yeah. Gotta go. Don't wat to make the dragon wait. Tata!" You stood up and bid farewell to your friends.
"Good luck! That nickname really suits him." You heard your friends shout behind your back. You just waved goodbye and headed towards the dean's office.
You looked around the teachers' lounge and saw that the secretary is nowhere to be seen. So you just went straight to the dean's office.
You peeked first and when you saw no one is inside. You entered the room without any warning.
"Ayo waddup Krease?! I'm here. Why did you summon me, oh dragon?" you joked around as you curtsied.
"Stop fooling around. Sit down." He ordered around like a king, he's forehead knotted with a frown.
"Should I roll like a buffalo now?" you teased a little bit more, mindless of his bad mood.
"Shut up, Mae." He barked sternly.
"Are you in a bad mood, Kris?" you asked, pouting.
His frown grew even more pronounced when he heard your question.
"Call me Sir when we're in school. What is this Ms. Kim?!" he snarled, waving a piece of paper in the air.
You looked at it and gasped. It was the results of your examinations. You shrugged and plainly said, "You know I suck at Mandarin, Kris."
"Call. Me. Sir." He retorted annoyed with you.
"Why do I even have to take that subject?" you whiningly continued as you look at him in awe.
Even if he's in a bad mood. He's still so handsome.
"Remember that you were the one who forced me to put you in that class."
"Because that's your class. But can you just change my grade to make me pass?"
"No buts. I don't care if we're engaged. You are still my student in this school! And what if we got married? The school board will know that I married a freak."
"Hey! Watch what you're saying, Sir Wu! I am not a freak!" you shouted back, surprised and at the same time aghast when he stated you were engaged. He doesn't even acknowledge you during class and now he's saying you're engaged? Oh wow.
"Sorry. But you are insane, Mae! I know you're doing well with your other subjects but why are you flunking mine?" he said, his hands massaging his temples.
"I told you I am not good with Mandariiiiiin~" you answered in a sing-song manner. "And I am not insane."
"Yes, you are."
