"Uh guys!" called June, running into the living room. "Have you seen my butterfly clip?" Her sisters - April and May- shook their heads. "Why do you need it?" Asked May. "Oh, nothing. Megan asked to borrow it, but I'll have to tell her it's lost." She took out her phone and texted her friend.
"Hey, sis!" Asked April. "Are you excited for your birthday?" "Well yeah. Of course. But, I think I'll go to bed now, good night!" She said. And with that, she ran up the stairs to her bedroom.
"Well, she is not showing the signs" evaluated May. "But she should be, it happened to both of us when we were sixteen."
April smiled. "Be patient sister, just be patient" said she. May frowned and sighed. "I'm going up to the attic. I need to find her locket." She ran up two flights of stairs and opened the door to a room.
The March girls' attic was very dusty. But May waved her hands and the dust vanished. "The perks of having Magic" she whispered.
May walked over to a box and pulled out her locket. She opened it, and inscribed inside were her initials. The middle March sister closed her locket, and examined the outside. On the very front was a blue Sapphire.
"Did you find it?" Asked her older sister, suddenly appearing. May nodded her head. She then produced another locket, identical to her own. But this was had a Diamond stuck on the front, and June's initials carved on the inside. May pocketed the locket.
"Come, we have much to do before 12 o'clock" said April. She tucked a piece of her short red hair behind her ear. May looked into her sister's bright blue eyes and frowned. "Why are you so calm? Shouldn't we be nervous?" She asked. But April just shook her head. "No", she said , "we needn't be. You're worried enough for the both of us." Her sister's dark eyebrows seemed as if they were permenantly stuck in a frown.
April ran back down the stairs, her sister right behind her. "We need to start preparing" she said, and not another word was spoken that night, only hard work was done.

The next morning....
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Cried April and May, once June had come down for breakfast. There was a pile of presents on the counter and a stack of fresh pancakes too. There was also a big chocolate cake, which was June's favorite.
"Aww thanks you guys!" She cried, hugging her older sisters. "Uh, do you feel ok? I mean, any different than you normally do?" Asked May. April gave her a look, which meant 'shut up', but May ignored it.
"Um no, but last night, I thought the floor shook in my bedroom. Which is weird right, but yeah, other than that, I'm ok" replied June. Her older sisters glanced at each other, and then at June.
They sat her down to open her gifts, and eat her food, and went to the hall.
"It's begun" said April, shutting the door quietly behind her. "Maybe in half an hour, her powers will be in full swing." May nodded. "But until then, nothing." They both agreed to this and re-entered the kitchen.
But to their utmost horror, they saw June standing there with vines tangled all over her. "Mmm hmm bhph!" Mumbled June.
"Oh, June!" They cried, and ran over to untangle the vines.

A few minutes later......
They had managed to untangle June. "What happened?" Asked April. "I-I dunno" replied June. "V-Vines just sh-shot out of my h-hands. I know th-that sounds c-crazy, but it's t-true!'"
April put and arm around her sister. "We believe you. We know that it's true. You're not going crazy, OK?" At that moment, April held up both her hands and started rolling them around as if a she were holding a ball. There was a tiny flame, which grew bigger and bigger as she rolled them around more, until finally she was left with a giant fireball. June's jaw dropped . She wondered why it hadn't hit the floor.
At that moment, water splashed all over the fireball, putting it out. June realized that the water had come from May's hands. They smiled.
"Don't worry. The same thing happened to us. Vines, tangled, all of it. Here," said May, handing her a piece of the chopped vine, "hold it. If you close your eyes and concentrate all your energy on the vine, your power will be revealed."
For some reason -she had no clue why though- June did not question what her sister had told her for a millisecond and obeyed.
A few seconds later, the vine began to glow a golden colour, and it burst open. Wind came out of the vine and danced around June, finally letting itself to be absorbed through her fingertips. The vine was now a shower of golden Sparks. May quickly pulled out a jar and caught every last one of the sparkles.
"Who knows!" She said, after seeing that her sisters were starting at her. April chuckled.
She then nodded at May, who presented the locket. "Here, Happy birthday sis, from us, and mom" she said, handing it to June.
"Oh it's beautiful" she said, opening it. "J.S.M. My initials! Oh and a diamond too!"
"My locket", said April, "has a red Ruby on the outside and May's one has a blue Sapphire. Ruby represents the fire, and Sapphire the water. Your's is a Diamond because air has no colour. Both of our Gems were first diamonds too. But after our powers were revealed, they turned into what you see now. "
"That's all great" said June. "But what is going on!"
"Sit down" said May. She took her locket off and put it on the table. April did the same, and took June's one too.
The lockets stuck together and the gems floated off and merged together. There was a burst of light and what was left was a Purple Amethyst.
"Hello sisters" spoke a familiar voice from the Amethyst. "Let me explain."
"Is th-that, Emma?" Asked June disbelievingly. "Yes, but listen for now" said Emma. "Let me explain."
