I slowly opened my eyes, fumbling for the alarm clock blaring Great White's "Save Your Love." Sitting up slowly, I run my hands over my face to try to wake up. I had stayed up way too late the night before, listening to vinyl and writing and became way too consumed in it.  I had simply lost track of time. Looking over at the alarm clock, I realize I had overslept. At this rate I would be late to school. Oh well, it wouldn't be the first time. I stumble over to my makeshift vanity, still half asleep.  Running my fingers through my shaggy hair, I realize it isn't going to be a big curly hair kind of day. There just isn't enough time. Grabbing the Aqua net I begin spraying it heavily with my hair flipped upside down. Shaking it around a bit, I come back up and it is just as big as I had hoped it would be. At least today wasn't a bad hair day. Adding a winged liner and a red lip, I throw on some high waisted acid wash jeans and my Poison shirt, with my denim jacket, and I  am finally ready to go.  Grabbing my backpack I sneak out of my room. Trying to be as quiet as I can, knowing my mom is still probably asleep.

Quietly shutting the front door I am greeted by a crisp breeze with the sun beaming down onto my face. It feels refreshing. Fall is slowly making its appearance. Slipping on my headphones and clicking play on my cassette player to the sounds of Pink Floyd serenading my ears. I began my walk to school, lost in the sound waves of the music. Hopefully today will be a better day.....
