When you two get married, there is a ceremony afterwards where Diavolo basically makes your death a 'public execution'.
You get stabbed through the chest with some ceremonial blade or something idk.
And then you come back as a demon.
But since you still had that bond, your demon form resembles his.
Recovery takes a few days, but it's a pretty epic honeymoon.
