--⚔️what a strange day it was today.
techno stood atop the flat rock, the leaves of the willow gently brushing against his face. somewhere near him, a bird started chirping, the melodic tune finding its way across the scenic meadow.
he felt cold, but then again, that might just be the fact that he was wearing a thin short sleeved shirt on the chilly summer day.
basking in the slight sunlight, he closed his eyes, resting back on the engraved stone behind him.
he would rather not think of it, but his dreams seemed to think differently.
it was always him.
always.
[⚔️]
"hey techno, i wanna show you something!"
"huh? what is it?"
"here, have this!"
pushing a pink flower into the older boys hands, the blond smiled, showing off the gap between his teeth.
"it's for you! i think you'd look pretty with it."
[⚔️]
a pretty flower for a pretty boy, he had said.
[⚔️]
"you know, we really shouldn't be doing this-"
"you and i could both care less about what we shouldn't be doing, babe," the blond giggled at his boyfriends expression.
"aw, cheer up a little! it's not like you have to actually *talk* to anyone or anything."
"oh god, social interaction. my worst enemy."
"is that what the great technoblade is scared of? social interaction?" he rolled his eyes. "how come i don't see you getting scared of me?"
"because you're adorable, thats why," the pinkette answered, leaning over to give his boyfriend a peck on the cheek.
"..cheesy fucker.."
[⚔️]
that was their first date out together.
the same meadow he was in now.
techno sat up straighter, eyes wandering around.
another memory poked at his mind, painful and raw.
[⚔️]
"..and then, george pushed me! can you believe it? oH LOoK at mE i'M A Lil bRItISh boY-"
the blond had been off on another tangent of his, as usual.
"i think you're just a pissbaby," techno rolled his eyes at the younger boy, amused. "rude much?" "mm, i don't think so."
"yeah, well, whatever. you wanna go get ice cream?" "sure, why not?"
it was just a normal friday afternoon.
nothing could have prepared him for what came next.
"techno, watch out!-"
he heard his boyfriend's warning too late.
by the time his mind had registered what was happening, his body had already moved on its own accord.
"no, no, no.."
there was so much blood.
not him.
"stay with me, please stay with me.."
he barely managed to shakily grab the phone and call 911.
"they'll be here soon, they will. i promise you they will."
"hey, i-" the blond opened his mouth to talk, but instead of his voice, the sticky, red liquid with its disgusting iron smell that techno knew oh so well came out. "save your breaths,"
"i won't survive, will i?"
the green eyes that looked into his were so innocent, so trusting-
he didn't want to believe it.
"you will."
the dying boy in his arms gave a weak smile.
"you know, you were always an awful liar."
he brought a shaking arm up to the pinkettes face, a small, pink flower clutched in it.
"a pretty flower for a pretty boy."
it was silent for a few moments after that, techno trying in vain to staunch the flow of the blood.
"hey. look at me."
the freckled boy grinned, his usual, boisterous expression, and for a second, techno found himself almost believing that this was all just a nightmare, and he'd wake up in the morning, his boy in his arms.
"i love you."
"i- i love you too."
giving one last light laugh, the blond's eyes fluttered close.
"no, no no-"
please no.
"please, please, please-"
wake up.
"dream, please.. this isn't funny.."
the ambulance arrived too late.
[⚔️]
eyes jolting open at the painful memory, the pinkette bolted up.
shooting a glance at the gravestone next to him, he withdrew a shaking hand to place a small, pink flower from the bouquet tucked beside him.
"a pretty flower for a pretty boy."
