As the sun sets on this stressful day,
I feel overwhelmed, wanting to rant and rage.
So many things happening to me,
Oh how I wish I could just be carefree.
Like a cloud drifting in the breeze,
Or a bird flying high above the trees.
The soft light of the crescent moon
Filters through the windows of my room.
Just taking a moment to breathe
I feel time slow to a crawl.
As the calm quiet settles in around me,
The noise in my head begins to move on.
I feel the chains loosen,
The cage rusting to ruins.
My world filling with color,
Changes shaking like thunder.
Whispered words in my ear,
"Dearest, you have no need to fear.
Your world may be once dark and gray,
But now that I'm here it'll be okay.
I assure you all will be well.
Whatever's wrong, just tell.
You are here, safe and sound.
On this path, homeward bound."9/19/20
