Last period was quick. Yeah, we had to write stuff down but overall it was a productive lesson. And by productive I mean that I had to write loads of words on a paper which created this thumping in my arm.
I reach under the table to grab my bag and quickly tie my laces.
Hey, ya never know what could happen. You could trip and I do not want that whore Lacey having something to gloat about when recording it while her nasal laugh absorbs the sound of the video.
I glance out the window to see little drops of water showering down onto the ground. Making a repetitive pitter patter noise.
I gather all my things and rush out the door before another idiot can catch me.
I feel wrong for cutting Brooke off this morning so why not try to reconcile with her.
I also do not want to walk home alone in this torrential rain so I'm gonna need some company.
I sniff around the hallway to see if I can sense her Armani Code fragrance.
I notice Brooke leaning against a locker fiddling with her hair and giggling loudly.
I've never seen her so... tempted before.
That could only mean one thing.
Man candy.
I raise my eyebrow at her as she acknowledges me but the tall boy doesn't notice since his back is toward me.
Brooke seemed quite startled when she saw me. Almost dropping her things as she scurried to get some items out of her locker.
I try to identify who this guy is but I just can't tell.
He has messy blondish hair. Skyscraper-like stature. Legs trapped by tight jeans while his hands dug into his pockets casually. I admire the way he's very scruffy-looking. Although he looks quite familiar.
As I approach them I hear that thick Australian accent "I don't think my mom is gonna allow me to go..."
Not him.
Please not him.
"Come on, I'm pretty sure Liz likes me enough to trust me with you. At least for one night." I hear Brooke reply shakily as she averted eye contact.
"Why hello there, Maxine."
That's when I found out who it was.
"Why hello there, Luke motherfucking Hemmings." I mock him. "Fancy seeing you here, right next to my locker. Chatting up my best friend."
"Give it a rest, Max. It was a little over four months ago, can you not forgive and forget?" He rambles
"No. No I cannot, Hemmings. I'm not just gonna leave it like it's all dandy when it really isn't." I clarify hoping that the words permanently engrave into his head.
His nose scrunched up as he giggled, eyes closing as he ruffles my hair.
"You shouldn't hold a grudge Maxie." He whispers into my ear.
"You shouldn't be so close to me. Now get outta here before I call the cops." I attempt to threaten but receive another chuckle from Luke.
"And you'll tell them what?" He taunted mockingly.
He did have a point there. If I ever do try to call the cops, what the hell would I try to tell 'em.
Oh, officer. There's this tall, cute guy that's having the upper hand in our argument. Arrest him, please.
"Not the point, Lucifer." I mumble, knowing that he completely hates that name. "Just please leave."
"Whatever ya say, darlin'" He grins and skips away happily.
"Max, I'm s-"
"No, Brooke. Not today." I interrupt her as I clutch onto my bag and walk away.
She doesn't try to follow me but at this moment, I don't even care.
She knows that Luke and I have a bad history.
I told her everything. Yet she still has the nerve to talk to him like they're friends.
I just feel so betrayed.

Quite a short chapter, I'm aware of that. And please hold the pitchforks and fire because I haven't updated in soooo long but may I just add that school's a bitch.
Hopefully I'll update soon, and as you can tell Max and Luke dated before shiiiit. Not gonna give spoilers on that, you'll find out soon enough.Love you guys, I'll be updating sometime nearby.
