Jughead and Betty were walking Amelia to the bus stop for her first day of kindergarten. When the bus came, they said their goodbyes.
"Goodbye my sweets." Betty said as she kneeled down to kiss her daughter's forehead. "Good luck!!"
Jug was next."Bye meils" he said. "See ya when we pick you up" He kissed Amelia's cheek.
"Bye mommy, bye daddy!" She said excitedly. She got on the bus and saw her best friend, Aiden Andrews. She walked over to sit next to him.
"Hi Aiden!!" She said."Oh. Hey meils." He said less enthusiastic as his friend. "Can I have the window seat?" She asked. Aiden nodded and moved over. Amelia squeezed past him and looked out the window to see her parents waving as the bus drove away. She waved back.
"Aiden!!" She said so loudly it made him jump. "Yeah?" He asked. "Are you excited?!?" She asked with a big goofy grin. Aiden shrugged. "I don't know. I'm a little nervous. What if people don't like me?" He Said looking at his feet then at Amelia. "Don't worry." She said as she put his arm around his neck. "You'll always have me!!" She said. He pulled her in for a hug.
When they got to school they had found out that they were in the same class. During lunch a girl came up to them. "Hi! I'm Kaylee. Kaylee Topaz. You're the Jones and Andrews kids right?" She asked. Aiden didn't say a word. "Yeah." Amelia said. "I'm Amelia but most people just call me Meils. And this here is Aiden Andrews." She said pointing to him. Aiden nodded not looking at Kaylee. "Mind if I sit?" Kaylee asked."Of course!" Amelia said as she moved over for her to sit.
*After School*
Jughead and Betty pulled up to the front of the school to see Amelia waiting with Aiden. Kaylee had already been picked up. Betty got out of the car and hugged Amelia. "Hey meils. Hey Aiden. Your mom is on her way." Betty said to Aiden. She turned her attention back to her daughter. "Hi Mommy!!" Amelia said."Let me take your bag." Betty said. Amelia gave her mom her bag. Betty put Amelia in her car seat. She waved to Aiden and got into the passenger seat. "Hey meils! How was your day?" Jughead asked as he pulled out of the school parking lot."Hi daddy! It was good. I sat with Aiden on the bus and I made a new friend at lunch. Her name was Kaylee..." She tried to remember the last name. "Topaz?"
"Hey, isn't that Cheryl and Toni's daughter?" Betty asked Jug."Yeah."
"Glad to hear you had a good day!" Jughead said looking in the mirror to see his daughter smiling.
They pulled into the driveway and walked into the house. Betty hung Amelia's bag on a hook and turned on Amelia's favorite show.
