"Come home! Dinner's ready!" Kenya's voice came
piercing through the phone. I backed the phone away."Goddamn, Kenya. Stop fucking yelling." I rolled my eyes.
"You said you'd be home an hour and a half ago!"
"I know! I'm walking now, Kenya."
"I don't like you walking home this late." She sounded worried.
"I'm sorry, Kenya. I wanted to play a few more games."
"I know. But walking home from the basketball courts this late-"
"Kenya, I'm around the corner. I'm okay, i'll see you in a minute, okay ?"
"Okay be careful. I love you."
"I love you too, Kenya." I hung up and put my phone in my pocket. I was a little farther than around the corner. I had about a 5 minute walk. I couldn't stop thinking about Loren and Jay. I wanted both of them to be cool knowing we had shit handled here. Nothing seemed to be going on and I hadn't seen anything suspicious-
"Wassup, B." I take all that back. I looked up and saw King and some of his goons. In my head, I was freaking the fuck out.
"Man, King what you want?" I rolled my eyes.
"Where's yo boy?" He walked right up to me.
"He's minding his fucking business King. You should try it."
"You really wanna get smart with me?" He lifted his shirt up and so did the other niggas. There was guns everywhere.
"You think you scaring me? Shoot me." I was probably about to die tonight. Is this really how it ends for me, huh? One of King's boys took his gun out of his pants.
