I looked through the window of my limo, all shiny and new. I smiled widely at the mansion, as we pulled up. After all, my mom is a famous singer. I sighed in happy content and turned away from the tinted window. The darkness of the night filled my eyes again, as the lights faded. I slumped back in my seat lazily, and pretended to drift off into a deep sleep.
I waited, and thought to myself about what others would think of me.
They are gonna love me for who I am, and not who my mom is. They are going to not recognize me after I get my makeover though. Everything is going to change. I will no longer be famous in others eyes, I will be a normal girl, in a normal high school, starting fresh in freshmen year. No press, no fans, no stupid friends. An actual life for me, a normal one...
My thoughts were broken though, as a hand nudged my shoulder. I let out a fake yawn, and stretched my arms out. I turned my head over towards Edward, my butler who had awoken me from my thoughts. I smiled up at him, as the light from the limo pierced my eyes. He smiled back at me, before addressing me. "Catherine, we have arrived at your new home, so run along, find your room, and go to sleep. I will bring your bags up in a minute. Good night miss." He backed out of the limo, leaving me feeling like royalty. Surprisingly though, I hated it.
I am in high school, and a butler is treating me like I am five. I rolled my eyes at myself, knowing very well multiple people would love to be in my position. I sighed, and heaved myself off the seat. The limo's top was high, so I stood up, and leaned over a little bit. I waddled out of the limo, and onto the loose gravel below my feet. It was a good feeling after that six hour car ride.
My legs cramped, and I winced in pain. I bent over, and rubbed them with my cold hands. Both started feeling better quicker than I thought they would. My jeans rubbed tightly against my legs, and it squeezed onto them. Once again, my legs were uncomfortable. I looked over at the mansion like house and sighed.
"It's like all the other ones," I muttered to myself before forcefully taking my first move. The first step was forced upon myself, but then I willingly let my legs guide across the gravel. The lights were flickering on even more through the house, and piercing the delicate outside world. I could now smell the delicate roses that grew at our rock garden, while the hedges of leafy greens tumbled down the rows. I smiled at the one thing I enjoyed here. The beauty in the nature. I smiled, as I reached the bottom of the porch steps. I looked up the nice stairs, and my smile faded. This was so bland colored, and as I took a step onto the short staircase, I noticed they hurt my bad knee.
I half limped, half walked up the steps, until I was only two away from the top. I grabbed both rails, and jumped to the top, landing gracefully on both feet. I turned around, and bowed to my imaginary crowd. I looked up, stood up straight again, and turned on my heel. When I did so, I found myself face to face with a nice mahogany door. It was painted over in white, but I didn't mind. Just the craftsmanship itself left me gaping in awe.
I placed my hand on the golden knob, and slowly opened it. My eyes burst open, as they surveyed the inside of the house. A few paintings hung from the wall, and an array of mirrors, and drapes hung beside them. I took a step into the glorious house, and I looked down and to my right. There was a shelf for our shoes, so I slipped off my toms and threw them on the rack.
I smiled, and turned to the hallway. The staircase that led to the second floor looked to me like the ones in the movies. I ran towards it, and raced up the long staircase. It was marvelous, so I fan even faster till I reached the top. I turned right, and headed down the corridor. I stopped after the third room, and thought again about the directions.
Up the stairs, to the right, third door on the... I took a second to think about it before finalizing: left side.
I counted down one more door, and opened it, to reveal my room. I flickered on the lights, to allow me to see the glorious room. The walls were a cool grey, very light and soothing. The right side wall was large, and had a royal blue color. It was my favorite color. Hanging on that wall, was my San Francisco painting, hanging on the low right, while my five plush teddy bear heads, hung from the left side of the wall. In a blush pink tone, my name was staggered across the center of the wall. Right below, was my queen size bed. The velvet blue sheets glistened, and added a nice touch. Four pillows, of different shades of blue lay across the head of my new bed. My two teddy bears, sat upright looking at me, from black eyes. To the right of the bed stood a deep purple lamp, that was tall and subtle. On the white night stand, a short and stumpy purple lamp made it's home. An alarm clock was next to it, with the time reading as, 11:36pm. I yawned a little, even though I wasn't tired. Looking back around my room, I noticed the purple leather chair for reading next to my lamp.
I took a few steps into my room, and closed the door behind me. turning back to the robe hanger on my right, I noticed my plush blue and white robe, my lavender robe, and my blood red robe, all hung up nicely.
I turned back around, and looked to the left of my bed. An identical night stand was there, along with the identical lamp. A giant window, with satin white window curtains. Next to that was a mirror with a fancy white frame. A nice blue couch sat in the once empty space next to that, along with a white knit blanket. A table stand was next to it, along with a remote. I walked over to it, and looked back at my closet to see a 32" plasma screen TV. connected to the wall. A smile grew on my face like the Cheshire cat himself. I plopped down on the couch, to find it suitably comfortable. I fell over, as if I were to sleep when I heard a knock at my door.
"Come in," I groaned, pretending as if I were asleep.
"I'm sorry for waking you cat. I just thought you would enjoy the company," my best true friend Alice said playfully to me.
I lept off the couch, and ran to her, giving her a giant hug.
"Why are you here! I barely got here, and you are already on the house-warming tour. Fast..." I murmured out the last part, and she punched me. "Ow," I mono-toned to her, rubbing my shoulder. "Are you staying the night?" I asked her, hoping she said yes.
"Of course, and I am also getting a make-over tomorrow with you!" She squealed.
"OMG!!!! Really!" I squealed back.
We both looked at each other, and cracked up laughing. I wiped away a tear that had falllen from my cheek. This was going to be fun!
