I just posted the epilogue, and I feel emotional. I can't believe it's finished. I actually cried.
This story first came into my head sometime in late 2015, as Chloe hanging from the cliff top, confessing a secret to Harry, before letting go to save his life. Why were they there, I asked myself. What did she do, and why was it a secret? Why would she sacrifice herself for him?
In answering these questions over the following months Twist of Fate was born, and although the writing process has been very much stop-start the whole way through, not a day has gone by when I haven't thought about the characters, or the plot, or the fine details that helped bring it all together. Out of all my books it's the one I'm most proud of, and if you're reading this now I'm guessing you made it to the end and (hopefully) enjoyed the story? I just wanted to say thanks for reading it, especially if you started in 2017 when I published the first few chapters, and you've stuck with it until the end. I'm sorry for the delays between updates, I know how frustrating it is when people start books and don't finish them, but I can't express how thankful I am to anyone who didn't give up on me, or Chloe and Harry, and made it to the end.
Readers' comments are my biggest motivation. I can be stuck in a plot hole for weeks, and all it takes is for one person to ask, hey when are you next updating? And suddenly I'm reaching for my laptop with renewed energy and determination, and I'm out of the rut and on a roll again. If you've ever asked me that, give yourself some of the credit for me finishing this book!
There are five specific songs that either inspired, or captured the essence of, this story. They are:
Something Just Like This - The Chainsmokers & Coldplay
One Last Time - Ariana Grande
Wildest Dreams - Taylor Swift
I Will Be - Avril Lavigne
Colourblind - Counting Crows
Give them a listen if you like, and tell me if you think they fit this story. I think they do, particularly Coldplay - I always think of Chloe whenever I hear it.
I always do a Q&A at the end of my books so as usual, if you have a question about the book, the characters, the plot, or anything else at all you want to ask me, drop me a comment here (before 25th September please!) and I'll post the questions and answers next weekend.
Over the next week I'll be editing the entire book in preparation for entering it in this year's Watty awards (the deadline for entry is 30th September), so if you enjoyed it please feel free to vote for any/all of the chapters by hitting the star button at the bottom of the page of each chapter, share with your friends or fellow readers/writers/anyone you think might enjoy it, and follow me on Wattpad/Twitter/insta etc!
So once again, thanks from me and bye for now xx
