"Thanks for tonight. It was great!" I smiled at Castael.
"Well after your crazy day, I figured you could use a little time off from the college life," he half-smiled at me and his eyes twinkled.
"Crazy is a great way to put it," I told him. "Possibly insane," I referred to the dream that nobody knew about but me.
"Have a good night," he leaned into me.
"So, how did it go?" The door swung open and Mo was standing on the other side, me and Castael inches apart. "Oh..."
I turned and glared at her.
"Sorry!" She sang and closed the door again.
"Well, that was a moment ruiner," I laughed.
"That's ok, I'll kiss you tomorrow night, or the next, maybe both," he threw me a cheeky smile and kissed me on the cheek and walked away. I went into the apartment and giggled to myself.
"So, how did it go?" Mo let out in a big breath.
"Well," I started, "Despite the date being a delusional request from me, it went great! He's so sweet!"
"I know! He was always really sweet!" she smiled at me.
"You two really grew up since birth, huh?" I asked.
"Well, he was a little older than me, so he watched me grow up," she nodded.
"I thought you were the same age!" I asked confused.
"Um, no. He's about tw-two years older than me," she confessed.
"Wait, how old are you?" I asked.
"Nineteen," she said.
"So, you're telling me that I've been going out with a 21-year-old?" I shouted.
"I thought you knew," she replied.
"Not that it's that big of a deal. His age makes him a little hotter," I giggled and she stared at me in horror. "What?"
"Oh, nothing. It's just he's like a... brother to me. It's weird to hear someone saying he's hot." She smiled at me.
A few days later, after what Mo told me was a bump on my head healed, I returned to my classes. After leaving Dr. Jeremiah's class, AKA Mo's uncle, I was going to my elective ceramics class.
There was a group of people standing in the grass who looked seriously sketchy. I pulled my book sack higher on my shoulder and held my books tighter.
"Oh, look, a person!" one of the people shouted.
"Hello! I'm Courtney! Would you like to join our acapella group? We're called-"
"Ok, this isn't Pitch Perfect." I watched perky Courtney's face drop.
I glanced at the paper in her hands and walked away.
"Wow, harsh much?" a familiar voice called out for me. Someone was suddenly at my side laughing her head off. "I don't think she's ever been dissed that hard."
"That wasn't even a dis. I was just telling her how it is," I said.
Molly laughed. "Well, she's scarred." She glanced back and laughed again. I wasn't much amused but whatever made her laugh.
"I hate acapella."
"Aca-scuse me!" Molly shouted.
"No, I don't. That's my favorite movie, actually." I smiled.
