"Welcome to Colorful Cutie Cafe! We're here to serve you!" A pretty demon with purple eyes bowed, greeting me as I walked into the establishment.
This kind of place wasn't normally my cup of tea, but I was here for a valid reason. It opened up rather recently, having a major spike in customers over the past three months compared to its first few weeks of being open for business. There wasn't a real reason as to why they had such a massive influx of customers. Reservations were damn near impossible to get, and the restaurant was never empty.
I was here on business to see what all the hype was about. In other words, I'm here to review and critique it without holding back. I'm a food critic, one of the best in the Devildom. So when a new restaurant opens its my job to discern if it should stay open. I'm here to make or break this cafe.
"Right this way!" The demon from before led me through the establishment. The atmosphere was bright, and vibrant, and the entire place was decked in pastel colors. Servers were required to wear maid clothes since this was a maid cafe, and people seemed to adore that. I, personally, wasn't sure how to feel about it.
The lovely demon put me in a seat that was in the very middle of the cafe. It seemed this spot was normally reserved for couples since it was a table meant for two, but the place was already very packed so it didn't really matter where I was seated.
"One of our maids will be right with you, sir! Would you prefer a male or female server today?" She spoke in a cheerful tone, high pitched and loud. I absolutely despised that about her, but I put on a smile anyways.
"I don't think it matters but a male server, please."
"Alright, Mr Critic! Please enjoy your stay. We're here to serve you!" I wasn't surprised that she knew who I was, I was more so surprised at the fact that she gave me a wink and posed like an anime girl. If that's this restaurants gimmick, then alright, but it is a little strange.
"Please take your time."
She left with a bow, and I was left to gaze at a menu filled to the brim with items. Much of the list was made up with sweets, or small finger dishes. Since this was a cafe, they also had a big selection of coffees and teas for their customers to choose from. I decided I'd try one of their cakes, as well as a latte.
I waited around ten minutes before a server came to greet me. He was adorable. He had a gentle blush dusted across his cheeks, and he wore that maid dress better than any woman ever could. He seemed rather tense, and flustered.
"Evening, sir! Leviathan is here to serve you, senpai!" The server bowed, and I was genuinely surprised he could make it through that statement without stuttering. He seemed far too shy to be working in a place like this. "Leviachan will take your order now, sir!" He pulled out a small notepad, one with pink paper, as well as a pen.
"I'll take a caramel latte, as well as the strawberry cake on the menu with the funny name." It seemed to be named after something I couldn't really recognize.
"The strawberry cake is actually named after an anime that I really enjoy. It's about this girl and she-" The server's eyes lit up, seemingly excited to be discussing something like this. He was very passionate about his interests, and I think that's adorable. "S-Sorry! I'm meant to be serving you."
"No, it's okay! I'd love to hear more about this anime, Leviathan! You look cute when you talk about something you like." I chuckle, and the look on his face is absolutely priceless. His cheeks were so red, and he was so embarrassed with my statement that he tried to cover his face with his hand.
"I c-cant discuss anime with a normie! It goes against my otaku code! No normies allowed." He huffed, and tried to stand up as straight as possible, feigning confidence. "I'll be right back with your order, sir!"
"Please. Call me (Y/n)!" I wave at him as he walks off, and his blush somehow managed to deepen. I watched as he disappeared in the back, leaving me alone at my table once again.
The restaurant was surprisingly quiet considering how packed it was. Every seat was filled with a person. It seemed to house quite the variety of creatures, some here for fun or some here actually looking for a nice place to eat. I hope the food is worth my time. The servers are so welcoming and the place automatically draws you in in ways most restaurants don't.
The server from before returned with my order, his cheeks still the color pink.
"Here's your order, (Y/n)-kun." Leviathan bowed once again, something I'm still getting used to. It's a little strange having someone bow to me like I'm their master. (stfu no sin in this chapter.)
"Thank you. Do you have a piece of paper and a pen I can borrow?" I grin, resting my cheek against my palm as he gives me a funny look.
"Y-Yeah. Here." He pulled out the notepad from before, as well as the pen and handed it to me. I took it and wrote down my number.
"Call me sometime. I want to hear more about that anime you like!" His eyes sparkled a bit when I said that, and his cheeks turned red once again.
"S-Sure." He wore a bashful smile, staring down at his feet and avoiding the gaze of his customer.
I really hope he calls me soon❤

My Review: The food was mediocre, not very memorable. But I will be returning for the cute server and the welcoming atmosphere. Thank you for the meal, Mr Otaku <3
