Today was a long one for me, on top of seemingly having a dozen tests and all of that non-sense. Then add in that Dad has been calling Mom to get in touch with me, probably to just be an ass and cause us stress or because of wanting a 'daughter'.
Well, my stress levels are just all over the place, it doesn't help that I have that Steve guy nearly bumping into me all of the time at school either. Last time I checked I was not exactly invisible. How I can be when I tend to trip over my own two feet half the time? Of course tripping unless pushed normally only happens when I get a splitting headache. Well, sometimes.
I was sitting in the basement at the Wheeler house listening to them play in amusement. They are adorable kids really and certainly funny too. My twin is probably out working right now. To be fair D&D is a fun game to play and these kids are pretty awesome but I've been trying to get a gas station job as of late.
"Something is coming. Something hungry for blood. A shadow grows on the wall behind you, swallowing you in the darkness. It is almost here." Mike says, much to my amusement. I have to hide a small giggle by covering my mouth with my hand.
"What is it?" My little brother asks worriedly, wide eyed as he glances at Dustin and Lucas beside him.
Gasping in fake horror while putting my hand over my heart I dramatically proclaim "Maybe it's the Demogorgon?"
Dustins eyes go wide in his own horror as he glances at me and says loudly, frantically as his eyes begin to skirt around. "Kristi's right, what if it's the Demogorgon? Oh Jesus, we are so screwed if it's the Demogorgon."
Lucas looks at us, while rolling his eyes in exasperation at me and Dustin, "Its not the Demogorgon." That boy has a sense of seriousness a mile wide I tell ya.
"It so could be." I say with a playful pout as I cross my arms over my chest, much to the little ones amusement at my childish display.
Then Mike proclaims dramatically as well. "An army of troglodytes charge into the chamber!"
I pout more as I stare at him in pretend disappointment, "You're ruining all of my fun little Mike."
"Troglodytes?" Dustin says in relief, finally relaxing a bit as Mike sticks his tongue out at me.
As Lucas proclaims happily while looking at us triumphantly, basically fist bumping the air. "Told ya!"
Mikes mouth quirks up in amusement though as my little brother playfully hits my stomach with his hand. "Shut up Kristi."
In my older sister way I go to my tongue out at him just as I begin to get a headache and let out a groan.
"Are you okay?" My brother, Will asks me frantically as I rub my temples as images flash under my eyelids, fighting them back I swallow down the urge to hurl.
Shaking my head after I collect myself I let out a sigh and look at him with a small smile and ruffle his hair causing him to bat my hand away in annoyance.
God, why does that keep happening? What the hell was I even seeing? Maybe I'm just going crazy?
Then with more dramatics then any actor Mike loudly proclaims, "Wait a minute, did you hear that? That... that sound? Boom... boom... boom! That didn't come from the troglodytes. No, that... That came from something else... The Demogorgon!"
"Ohh... Nooo." I proclaim loudly with fake despair causing my little brother to kick my leg under the table and shake his head at me
"We're in deep shit." Dustin says dramatically making me chuckle as he winks at me. Kids I tell you.
