"Jordan! get out of bed!"
A groan fell from my lips as I rolled over, pulling a pillow over my face. school. I hated school, it was boring and too easy. The having no friends added to the hatred and not caring about half the things they teach, but I knew that a soon as I finish high school I could leave this place that I despise so much.
Mum had set a plate with a piece of toast and butter, along with a glass of orange juice on the table. I rolled my eyes at the pathetic effort from my mother and grabbed the toast pulling my school bag onto my shoulder as I walked out the front door.

A cool breeze brushed over my skin as the teacher pulled open the window calling out nonsense that I don't care enough to understand or even listen to. Music blasted in my ears through my earphones as I fiddled with the cord, tapping my fingers to the beat on the table.
"Jordan, pay attention!" Ms Barbra spat as she reached to grab the string of my earphones.
I cringed away from her touch and pulled them from my own ears, glaring up at the skinny lady that stood above me, with a sour look on her face. She nodded her head in the direction of a tall figure who stood at the front of the classroom with a bag lazily slung across her shoulder.
My gaze ran up the slender body, I took in her skirt that sat high on her thighs to her short black hair and then settled on her deep green eyes, that to my surprise were already staring intensely into mine.
A bored smile formed on her pink lips as she slouched into the chair next to mine.
"As I was saying, we have a new student," the teacher continued, "Say hi to Rilee."
Groans of disinterest vibrated around the room, but my gaze was drawn to this new student.
She met my eyes, but quickly I turned breaking eye contact, I pushed my earphones back in my ears. I noticed a hurt, almost confused look wash over her face, as if she wasn't used to being ignored.
I rushed down the hall on the bell, clutching onto my books desperately wanting to get home.
I turned as someone quietly giggled next to me. There she was, the girl with black hair and piercing green eyes, walking beside me.
"Going somewhere?" she asked trying to keep up with my pace.
Silence fell as I sped up slightly.
"I'm Rilee," she sighed impatiently.
"I know," I muttered under my breath, grabbing at my books more tightly.
"And you are?"
"Jordan."
To fill the silence, that seemed to last forever "Cute name," a smirk played on her lips.
By the heat I felt in my cheeks, I knew my skin had betrayed itself, flushing bright red. But my hair covered it, my glasses covered it, 'she didn't notice how she affected me' I told myself.
The knowing look on her face told me I was wrong. Without saying a word, she hoisted her bag up on her shoulder and spun around on her boots, swiftly walking away.
I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding and sighed thankfully as the cool air outside hit my hot skin.
she was going to be hard work...
