"shall we?"

"hey Jordan, Rilee, come dance!"

I was pulled out of the trance I was in while looking into Rilee's eyes and quickly snapped into the real world.

My eyes darted around the backyard and stopped when I found the person who the voice belonged to, a girl, whose name I believe was Cassie, stood at the open sliding door, signalling us to come inside.

I pulled my hands from Rilee's cheeks and linked them behind my body, all my confidence seemed to fade away as Rilee looked straight at me, as if she was expecting me to say something.

I looked down at my shoes and touched the tip of my toes together. Rilee clearing her throat made me look up and catch her gaze, her hand held out expectantly.

"Shall we?" she asked, nodding her head to the open slide door.

I scrunched my nose, as if to say 'let me think about it' but quickly took her cold hand in mine and followed as she led me inside.

The atmosphere had seemed to change since last time I was inside. Everything seemed to be in slow motion, the people, the drinking, the music. Only a few couple of people stood on the 'dance floor' lazily rubbing against eachother and acting as if they enjoy it. I hated it. Why would one choose to do this.

The start of 'build me up buttercup' played through the loudspeakers and Rilee suddenly yanked me close so our bodies were flush against one another.

She dramatically rocked us side to side, smiling like she was having the time of her life. I couldn't help but laugh uncontrollably as I let her throw me around like a doll. Me being putty in her hands.

Our chests rocked together with laughed as she pushed me away holding onto my hands and spun me around so my back was to her, rocking us gently once more before flinging me back, then slipping her hand to the lower bit of my back and dipping me, my body completely bent backwards as she bent the same way, our faces only inches apart. Our puffed-out breaths from both dancing and laughing mixed together.

She pushed me up right and our bodies were once again as close as possible. She lifted her hand, holding mine, above my head and span me around in a complete circle.

Her hand fell to my waist while her other held mine, the classic ballroom stance, she stepped out to the side, then to the other and back again, soon dancing a proper dancing pattern, my feet unconsciously followed hers and we flowed perfected. I threw my head back in laughter and giggled as she laughed at my pathetic dancing skills.

It was as if the world around us became one big blur and the only thing in focus right now was her, Rilee.

Her black hair flowing in all directions and her skirt flinging around with her dancing body. Her mouth was curved into the biggest smile I had seen from her, probably the only real smile I've seen, but I loved it, I didn't want it to end.

But as we know... all good things come to an end.
