×Divine Despair×

There was a time
When everything was just fine
You and I, divine, hearts filled with hope, eyes with sunshine.
Rainy days were but
Rainy days, to find comfort in each other
There was no other, no one could compare.
Our love as strong
As that of a mother bear
Too little time to be wrapped in despair.
Comme ci, comme ça was all our bad days
Like this, like that, every which way.
We were as pure as the last love song
Pulled from the dirt and we couldn't go wrong;
Never imagined it
Just had to be strong.
Now we converse, opinions not parallel
Though lost in the verse we continue to tell;
Tell the story of a life once lived
Secured, ensured we'd never run amiss.
Well, maybe once but now I see
It's no longer Yin and Yang,
Not Clyde and Bonnie:
Yin has dissipated, shows up here and there,
Bonnie? She's gone, vanished with the midnight air.
Although a connection remaining still
Binds us together like ink and quill,
Nevermore will we see that same light,
But never again will we replay that same night.
Distance only grows and hearts are changed
Both of us, well, but still playing strange.
Too many cases, too much to believe
My heart may be wrong but eyes only deceive.
To lose you, I couldn't bare, so together we'll thrive
And this divine despair will keep me alive.
