Chapter Two

I looked out the plane window. There it was. London, England. The pilot told us that we were landing, and I got butterflies in my stomach. I was excited and scared, all at the same time. I've always wanted to go to London, and coming to have a job interview with the manager of One Direction made the experience 10 times better. But I was so scared. What if he doesn't really like me? What if he sees my styles and thinks I am the worst hair stylist in the world? I mean, if this is what God wants, then He will make everything work out the way he wants it to, right?

I got off the plain and got my luggage, and then went outside and called a cab. I had already booked a room in a hotel back home. When I was on the phone with Paul I asked him of a good hotel in the area that wasn't too expensive. I didn't want to wind up booking a hotel that looked good on its website but was nasty once you got there.

Since I wasn't meeting Paul until the next day I went straight to my hotel to relax. The flight was pretty tiring. I was also hungry so I looked online for the nearest pizza place and ordered some. Thank the Lord there was a Pizza Hut® near by. That's my favorite place to eat pizza. I ordered a stuffed crust, white sauce, radian bacon pizza. That had become my new favorite. Plus, the white sauce doesn't make me have bad acid reflex like the red sauce does. With me planning on going to bed soon, I figured that the white sauce would be the best choice. After I ate I laid out my outfit for the next day. I didn't want to take a chance of it wrinkling while it was in my bag.

Beep! Beep! Beep! My alarm, which was on my phone, went off. I looked at my phone. Today was the day. My stomach turned. The more I thought about it the more nervous I got. I prayed so much that day... And the day before.

"Today's the day, God. I'm so scared. What if I mess things up?" I prayed. I talked to God like He was my best friend, which He is. I don't talk to Him using words like, "thou," "ye," etc. I talk to Him more like this... "What's up God?!" He don't care. He just loves to hear His children talk to Him!

I got ready for the day. I wore a strapless, black maxi dress, which had tan and black chevron at the top, a khaki dress jacket, and nude heels. I curled my long blonde hair. For my makeup, I had done it in neutrals. Once I was all ready, I went to the first floor of the hotel. The hotel that I stayed at did the whole complementary breakfast thing, so I went and got me some waffles, yogurt, and coffee. I didn't eat in their seating room. Instead, I went back to my room. While eating I did devotion, and then prayer.

I still had a few hours until I had to meet with Paul, so I decided I would go and shop around. The shops here were great! I fell in love with London! It was beautiful! I looked at my phone and seen that it was 11:30 am. Time sure flies when you are having fun! Paul and I were meeting at a little café in town. We were just going to have coffee and eat while he interviewed me. I called Paul so I could ask him what the little café was called. I have such a terrible memory, and I couldn't remember the name to save my life.

"Hello?" Paul said answering the phone.

"Hello. Is this Paul Higgins?" I wanted to make sure I hade the right number.

"Yes it is. May I ask who is calling?"

  "This is Aspyn Taylor."

"Oh okay! I'm sorry. I forgot to save your number in my phone."

"Oh," I gave a little chuckle, "that's okay. I was just calling to ask what the name of the café is that we are meeting. I'm afraid I have forgotten."

  "That's okay. It's Annabelle's Café."

"Um okay." I looked around at my surroundings. "Where is that exactly?"

He chuckled a little. "It's near Maple Reads. Do you know where that is?" Paul asked me.

"I think so. That's the book store right?" I asked.

"Right. It is just across the street from it." Paul replied.

"Oh okay! I'm not that far from it then! I'll be there in a few!"

  "Alright. Bye." Paul said

Since I wasn't that far from the café, I decided to walk. I figured that way I am saving money, by not having to pay for a cab, and I'm burning calorie. I seen Maple Reads and looked around and found the café. It literally was "just across the road" from the book store. As I was walking to the café, I prayed in my head. "Okay God. I'm about to go and have an interview with Paul Higgins! Please help me. Help me not to stay anything stupid, because I have a tendency to do that. If this is what you want then please let it go well. Let it be your will whether or not I get this job."

I reached the café. I stopped and took in a deep breath, trying to think if I remembered everything I needed to bring, such as pictures of some hair styles and what not. When I walked in I looked around and spotted Paul. Since we had never met in person I was pretty nervous. I had no idea how to approach him.

I walked over to the table that e"Um hi. Are you Paul?" I asked, my voice a little shaky.

"Yes. You must be Aspyn." Paul replied.

He asked me a few questions, just about different things, and I answered. I showed him a few pictures of hairstyles that I've done. He seemed impressed. It went really fast honestly.

"Well, Ms. Aspyn-" Paul started to say.

"Please, call me Aspyn." I interrupted.

"Aspyn," Paul replied, continuing his sentence from before, "I am quite impressed with your works."

I smiled politely.

Paul continued, "I honestly was looking into other stylists. I was looking for a more known professional. When you called I was quite surprised. I would never think someone from a small town in Missouri would be calling to work for One Direction. That is, it not being some screaming, teenage girl that just wants an excuse to be with them 24-7."

I chuckled a little at the thought.

"Well, you are pretty professional and I think you will do great. Congratulations. You got the job."

I calmly shook his hand, telling him thank you. I'll be honest... On the inside, I was dying a little of excitement. Paul told me of all the details I needed to know and that I would be meeting the boys I a few weeks. I was so excited! Know I just had to think of a few other things, like...

Where was I going to stay? I can't just live in a hotel! If I did find a place to live.. I would have to sell ally stuff back home and use that money to buy new stuff here.

Though I was excited, I had a lot to think about.
