Dear diary,

Today I brought myself back to my home to meet my old friends, Octavia and Onyx. They say I had a crush on Goby before I was squidnapped by Marie and Gramps. Well I'm where I want to be now! Octavio says that Marie and Gramps manipulated me to thinking we were cousins and idols together and, ahh, I want to splat them so hard the Zapfish falls apart!
Well now I have to meet my other friend Shadow by my house later! Wish me luck! I think I have a crush on HIM now...

The sound of orange juice being poured into a glass filled the silence.

"Aren't you excited to meet Shadow?" Onyx blandly replied.

Onyx was always sounding emotionless. There was never a time where I saw her smile or sound excited.

Octavia set the glass of OJ on the stone counter. "Of course I'm excited. It's just that..." I hesitated, a tone of sadness piercing my throat. A lump started to form and tears nearly welled up in my eyes. "I just miss him so much! I don't know how awkward it'll be if we—"

"Heya, Cal! Sorry the Inklings squidnapped you like CRAAAZY!" Shadow replied, waltzing in the lair. "Nice lights. Gives off a... luminous effect."

"Shadow! I missed you!" Callie squealed, throwing him into a fit of hugs.

"Heeeey! Nice shades! Where'd you get them, Squcci?" Shadow teased, patting her back. "I'm just kidding. I'm the one who supplied the shades for you, ya know?" He laughed afterwards, darting his eyes across the lair. "This place got a lot of makeovers the last time I got here."

Both Callie and Shadow eyed a black book with pink bolts striking the bottom. "Haha, what's this? A diary?" He said, hanging the book up in the air.

"Yes it is. Let it go." Callie huffed, jumping up and down, attempting to reach it. Too bad Shadow was taller. "Shadow please. It's mine. It has my name on it."

Shadow giggled. "You write in a diary? I wanna see." He flipped open the pages of the book, nodding and gasping every few seconds. "You... like me?" He said, slamming the book shut. "I thought you liked Goby more."

Callie huffed. "Give it back." She demanded.

"Sour today, huh?" Shadow teased, giving her back the book. Then he knelt down. "It's okay if you don't want me to know you like me. I'll just forget it. 3, 2, 1, boop!"

Callie sighed, picked up her pen, and flipped open an empty page and wrote in it. Shadow dismissed himself and went to get a cup of milk. "One milk, Miss Octavia." he crooned.

"Shut up," Octavia playfully replied.

Dear diary,

Today Shadow found out I vent about stuff here and now he knows I like him. What do I do?! Am I allowed to rely on you? I just don't know anymore... help me to your best extent, please... I'm very desperate since he pretty much knows everything. Let me know soon...

- Callie

To her surprise, the book started to write back.

Dear Callie,

What I would do is to ignore it or tell him you write in here as a joke. Though Shadow will be disappointed, he wouldn't care. I peered into the future and I know know his response. He will not be affected by your answer either way. Do not worry...
and trust in me.
