My name is (Y/N) (L/N) and I'm a Detective at the Detroit police department. Together with my coworkers Detective Gavin Reed, Officer Tina Chen and Officer Chris Miller we worked on cases involving both androids and humans, not only homicide cases like Lieutenant Hank Anderson and his android partner, Connor.
Yet that quickly changed when I got assigned my own android partner, a RK900 model named Conan. Now it turned from us making fun of Hank for getting an android, into working with one. Cliché isn't it?
You probably think, how did I react to that information right? Well...I wasn't the happiest to have an android partner when I could barely keep track of my human partners. Although here is an exact representation of my reaction.
I sat at my desk, just filling out paperwork with Gavin cussing out Connor under his breath, I get it that he doesn't like him but that doesn't mean that he should cuss him out like that, anyways. I was just sitting and doing my work when Captain Fowler or how we call him at the DPD, Jeffrey, came towards my desk with a pretty tall android in tow. The android looked exactly the same as Connor, except he had Blue eyes, a white and black jacket with some weird type of cone thingy on it and a black turtleneck.
“(Y/N), this is your new partner, Conan” stated the Captain and pointed towards the android behind him. I looked at him and then back at Fowler before saying “You're kidding me, right Jeffrey?” I asked, my voice breaking at the end of my sentence when I looked at the Connor lookalike behind him. The Captain only shook his head before walking off to his glass office, leaving the android, Gavin and I behind.
I glanced at Gavin who glanced back at me before looking at the android “So...uh what model are you..?” I asked in a unsure tone as Gavin just glanced around the police department with a look filled with help, probably looking for Tina or Chris. “My model line is RK900, a more advanced version of the RK800 model line. The same as that line, I am a prototype” stated Conan in a very...monotone and mechanic voice.
I glanced at my colleague that sat on my desk, begging him to say something which he did “So, you're a deviant probably, right?” his voice seemed unsure of what to ask and in all honesty, I couldn't blame him. After all a almost 6'2 or 6'3 tall android was standing right in front of us, with a very stern look on it's face.
“I was build to hunt down and kill deviants, it would be a failure in my coding if I was one, detectives” stated the RK900 model which caused us both to pale. It's after the revolution, all androids are free. Yet this one...he's still a machine.
He's still how he was
