I looked at him and raised my brow before asking “but...you do know that there are equal punishment rights now...right?” I could tell that my voice had an unsure tone to it. Conan looked me straight in the eye, his piercing icy blue ones with my (e/c) ones. His voice sounding cold and monotone as he spoke “I indeed know that, Detective, although I am still no deviant” with those words said he looked around before glancing at Gavin “Is there a desk somewhere I could use, Detective Reed?” Gavin's expression turned to one of shock before he scoffed and jumped from the desk he was sitting on and said “Here, it's free now, plastic prick”
With that said, Gavin got up and left, making his way towards the break room, leaving me alone with the android. I turned to him only too see him already looking through the files. I decided that I'll also start doing my work and sat down across from his desk. “...you have a dog, right? I like dogs...although I prefer cats” stated Conan making me look at him “huh, how could you tell that I have a dog?” I asked, not entirely thinking my own question through. “The dog hairs on your chair and clothing, It's an (d/b)// dog breed// am I correct?” asked the highly intelligent android to which I only nodded but didn't say my dog's name and turned towards my computer screen once again.
It's not like I disliked the presence of him, I just wasn't entirely used to it in all honesty. After a while, Connor came over to my desk and asked in a quiet tone “(Y/N), do you have something against it if we leave Sumo tonight with you? Hank and I are heading out of the state and-”“of course, don't worry about it Connor” I cut him off, agreeing to it which made him let out a sigh of relief “Thank you, we'd ask Gavin but you know..he has three cats and Sumo doesn't really enjoy feline company” stated Connor before giving me a small wave and then going back to his desk.
I could feel Conan's piercing blue eyes stare at me which caused me to turn my head towards him, raising a brow in confusion. In all honesty, it kinda creeped me out “Do you need...something?” I asked slowly, thinking that he probably won't understand me which was actually a stupid idea to think about. “Hm..? Oh no, I was just confused on why you were so...kind to my predecessor” stated the android which caused me to shrug “I don't see him any less than a human so why wouldn't I?” the statement I wanted to say, turned into a question out of the blue, yet I didn't get an response from him as he turned towards the terminal on his desk.
It was weird, sure. You rarely meet an android that won't answer your question but that is probably the fact that they deviate, they can choose wether they want to answer it or not. Yet he didn't seem as if he had deviated yet, which was quite surprising to me. I glanced at him from the corner of my eyes, his eyes were blinking as if he had an eye seizure, although that wasn't the main part that worried her. Every other android at the dpd, didn't wear their android uniform, even Connor, they all received normal police uniforms. Except him.
Conan turned towards me and I quickly averted my gaze from him before standing up “My shift is over” I stated and took my jacket from my chair and put it on “I'll see ya tomorrow..” and with that I quickly left the dpd. Tina, Gavin and Chris followed me as their shift was also over now.
