Chapter 5, Loved You From The Start

(A year later...)

Avalynn's P.O.V
It was the day before the concert. Me, Mallory, and Vanessa were at the mall, looking for outfits for the concert. Mallory found a cute black blouse with some really nice khakis. Vanessa found a really nice Zebra print V neck dress that went down to her lower thighs. I found a cute Leopard print dress with a cute overcoat to wear overtop. I was going to wear that with a pair of jeans I had in my wardrobe.

As we loaded our stuff in the backseat of our van, we took off down the road. We turned on the radio and Someone You Loved began to play. As we all rolled our windows as far down as they could go, we chanted the lyrics.

(The next day)

I woke up. Today is the day! The day I'm finally going to see my soulmate for the first time in ten years! I'm nervous, what do I say?

As I got ready to get in the shower, Jackson called me.

"Hello?" I asked through the phone.

"Hey, you free tonight?" He asked.

"No, me and my friends are going to a concert tonight." I said, rolling my eyes.

"Well can't you cancel?" He asked.

"What's so important?" I asked him, slightly annoyed.

"I can give you something you want way more than a concert!..."

GOD THIS MAN IS SO STUPID!

"I've told you a thousand times, I'm not ready!!" I said.

"Well who is performing that is so special?" Jackson mocked.

"Lewis Capaldi," I said. The phone grew silent.

"Are you meeting him?" He spoke up finally, sounding annoyed.

"Yeah... why?" I asked. Did Jackson know him??

"Because... never mind I gotta go." He said hesitantly. "Talk tomorrow!" He said as he hung up.

Did he know Lewis? I asked to myself.

I got ready to get into the car and drive to Mallory's. We were going to drive her car to Glasgow and arrive just in time for the concert.

"THIS IS SO EXCITING WE GET TO MEET LEWIS CAPALDI!"  They both screamed at the exact same time!

"I know I know." I laughed, I'm not a fangirl like my friends, but I sure am excited!

We arrived at the venue shortly after. We arrived a half hour before the concert was supposed to start, the VIP guests will get to meet Lewis after the show, and that was pretty nerve wracking for me. Lewis was my one and only since I was nine and to think I'll be seeing him again for the first time in twelve years.

As we got to our seats, Lewis entered the stage, I didn't even recognize him at all. He had a mop of dirty blonde hair that looked like it hadn't been brushed since August... but I loved it!

"Hello everyone, my name is Lewis Capaldi and I will be singing some sad songs tonight. Thank you all for coming and enjoy the show!" Lewis laughed, his voice, raspy and his accent thicker than I remember.

As the show flew on, my friends were screaming at the top of their lungs for Lewis, and I was sitting here with a nervous stomach. I wasn't sure if I was ready to meet Lewis.

As the concert ended, we were in a long line of people waiting to meet Lewis Capaldi. I so badly wanted to walk out of there and crawl into my bed, because I was not ready to talk to my life long crush.

"You aren't gonna leave now! We are so close to meeting our idol!" Vanessa cried out.

"Yeah! Chicken! Are you scared?" Mallory teased.

"Well yeah I'm scared! This man is my childhood crush!" I exclaimed. They gasped in complete shock.

Wait... I NEVER TOLD THEM!!

"Wait... YOU'VE MET LEWIS CAPALDI WHEN HE WAS YOUNG??" Mallory and Vanessa were going insane. Luckily, we were next in line, so they couldn't ask any more questions.

"Well.. we're next!" I said before they could say anything else. We walked into the curtain...

Lewis's P.O.V.
I just had a lovely show and I'm meeting fans, when I see three girls, one with blonde hair, another with black, but what sparked my attention was the girl with the brown hair,

"Hey ladies," I said to them. The blonde and black haired girls started screaming like little girls.

"H..hey. I'm Avalynn, these are my friends, Mallory and Vanessa. The brown haired girl pointed to her fangirling friends.

Wait... Nah, it couldn't be

"You know, I knew an Avalynn from when I was like eleven." Avalynn's eyes seemed to glow brighter. Like I was talking about her. I continued talking.

"She lived in Whitburn and she had brown hair like you..." I couldn't even finish what I was saying before she said one thing that blew my mind.

"Was her last name, 'Hanson'?" That's when it hit me. I couldn't believe it! I found her once again! We are reunited!

"Yes! Is that you??" My tone must've raised cause she ran for a hug.

"I've missed you, Capaldi!" She laughed. Her friends stood wide-eyed and mouths dropped to the floor.

I literally just touched one on the shoulder and she looked as if she would faint any second.

"Ahem. You have fans waiting." Ryan, my manager said.

"I'll give you my number if you give me yours." I said to her. She agreed and we exchanged numbers. I knew Avalynn was the one for me.
