Dramionie's secret

Part 18

Hermione's POV

Things were finally settling down after Ginny and Harry's romantic moment when Ron walked in covered in red blood and some suspicious red welts

"Oh my lord, Ron. What happened?" I cried out, suddenly everyone in the common room turned and their eyes fell on Ron,

"You look dreadful mate," Said Harry with a concerned look on his face, Ron sarcastically rolled his eyes

"Yeah, cheers bro" I walked over to Ron in horror, no matter how much I didn't like him at the moment I was still worried about him. He flinched slightly when I placed my hand on his shoulder, I couldnt tell if it was from me touching a wound or just me.

"Ron, what happened?" He looked up and glared at me

"Ask your boyfriend, Hermionie. He can tell you what happened." I gasped and tried to cover Ron's mouth with my hand but he had already spoken

"Whats Ron talking about, Mionie? You don't have a boyfriend." Harry said with a confused look on his face. Ginny took Harry's hand and pulled him away. When Harry was on the other side of the room I slapped the back of Ron's head.

"Shut up, Ron!" He just scowled and walked up to his dorm room. I walked out of the common room feeling everyone's eyes watching me. I walked fast, only thinking about what Draco did to Ron. Eventually I stopped at the library and walked over to find Jacob Knight, a first year Slytherin who I had helped with homework on numerous occasions,

"Jacob, come here."

"Yeah, Hermionie"

"I need you to do something for me"

"Sure, anything"

"Okay, I need you to go find Draco Malfoy and tell him to come meet me in the library. Can you do that?"

"But why do you need Malfoy? Is he in trouble?"

"Yeah, something like that. Just go find and tell him. Okay?"

"Okay. I'll be quick." Jacob ran off. I walked down and sat in one of the rows of the restricted section, picking up a random book I began to read until I felt a tap on my shoulder about 10 minutes later, it was Draco.

"Hey Hermionie," He said after kissing my forehead and sitting down across from me "A little boy just came and told me to come here, said I was going to get told off. Is he our new way of communicating because I'm 99% sure he has a crush on you." I didn't laugh along with him.

"Draco, please be serious for a second."  Draco straighten up and looked me dead in the eye

"Okay. I'm serious, what do you want to talk about."

"Did you fight Ron?"

"It was a pretty one sided fight, he didn't lay a hand on me." Draco smirked and Hermione looked horrified, Draco saw Hermione's face and quickly spoke "He deserved it though."

"That's not the point! He was my friend!" 

"Yeah, he was your friend. You stopped being friends because he's a jerk." 

"That doesn't mean you can go around beating up him. It's not nice." 

Draco scoffed "To be honest Hermionie I don't give a rats ass about being nice. He was mean and a jerk to you so I made him relise that that's not okay." 

"Draco, that's a nice sentiment but I'm not some mouse that needs protecting." Hermionie said softly, against her will she had become a lot less mad after hearing that he was just trying to look after her. 

"Hermione, I understand that. I just hated the way he treated you, so I let my emotions take over. Please forgive me, I'm really sorry." Hermionie sighed and shuffled over to draco's side and rested her head on his shoulder. 

"Please don't do something like this again." 

"I won't." 

"Promise?"

"I promise." 

Hermione and Draco sat in the same position for 10 minutes until the librarian started hustling everyone out of the library. They then walked out and were suprised to see that the front door was open to the snowy grounds. 

"I have an idea, do you trust me?" Draco said and Hermionie laughed 

"I'm now very nervous."  

"Im taking that as a yes. Come on!" Hermionie let Draco pull her out the door and into the snowy grounds. She gasped at the beautifulness, a clean white snowy layer was on everything and made it look like someone had sprinkled a whole bunch of icing sugar over everything. 

"Draco, its so beautiful."

Draco laughed "You've seen snow before, granger." 

"Yes but there's no footprints and its everywhere." She gestured around at the snow and Draco smiled 

"Come on. Lets go ice skating on the great lake." 

Hermionie looked up at Draco shocked "We can't!"

"Why not? Nobody's going to see us, it's too dark."  

"But we don't have skates and even if we did have skates, I'm horrendous at skating." Herminie watched in awe as Draco magiced their shoes into skates. 

"Now we have skates and don't worry im sure you could never be actually bad at something" He walked over to the lake and Hemionie hesitantly followed, holding Draco's hand tightly. 

"I'm not sure about this, is the ice even thick enough?" 

Draco sighed and cast a spell over the lake, adding an extra layer of thick ice. "Yes, now lets skate." 

They both stepped on to the ice and hermionie imeditly wobbled and clutched onto Draco, who was steady. He laughed and held her hands as he slowly and smoothly skated around the edge of the lake. After a few minuets she felt him let go of one of her hands and she tried to focus on staying steady while also missing the warmth of his hand. 

They skated towards the middle and Draco stopped them both and placed his hands on her waist, Hermionie smied up at him. 

He smiled softly and she felt him tuck a peice of hair, that had been hanging on the side of her face, behind her ear. "Hey, I'm gonna tell you something and I really dont want you to run away, okay?" 

Hermione nevously laughed "I wont run away, as long as it isn't you telling me that you're a serial killer or something." 

"Nope."

"Okay, then I promise I wont run away." 

"Alright, um. I love you, Hermione." 

Hermionie grinned, leaned up and started kissing him. Until she heard Draco try to speak "What?"

"Are you going to say it back?"  

"Whoops, sorry. Draco Malfoy I am in love with you and I love you." Draco bent down and continued kissing Hermione, her heart was spring. 

An hour later they walked back to Hogwarts and were slightly releived when the door was still open. Draco kissed Hermionie and they walked off to their dorms, both smiling and replaying the events of the last hours.
