The evening air in Daegu was crisp, carrying the subtle scent of street food and the soft hum of chatter from the market.

Jungkook and Taehyung had decided to take another walk after settling into their room, hoping that maybe, just maybe, they'd come across Aunt Mira's tent. The streets were lit with the warm glow of string lights, casting a golden hue over the busy market stalls. Despite the peaceful atmosphere, Jungkook's mind was elsewhere.

They walked side by side, their shoulders occasionally brushing. Taehyung glanced at Jungkook now and then, sensing a quiet tension in the younger man that hadn't been there before. But before he could ask, Jungkook's steps suddenly stopped, his gaze fixed ahead.

There stood Kim Namjoon, his ex lover.

Jungkook's heart clenched as he saw Namjoon standing a little further down the street, his arm draped around Seokjin, jungkook and namjoon mutual friend, their fingers intertwined.

The two of them looked so happy, so at ease with one another, completely lost in their own world. Just as Jungkook's eyes lingered, Namjoon leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to Seokjin's lips, a tender gesture that felt like a punch to Jungkook's chest.

He had known. He had known Namjoon had moved on, that the breakup hadn't left the same scars on him as it had on Jungkook.

But seeing it—witnessing the man who had once been his whole world kissing someone else—was a different kind of hurt. His breath caught in his throat, the ache settling deep in his chest as he tore his gaze away, blinking hard to keep the emotions at bay.

Taehyung, who had been watching him closely, followed Jungkook's gaze and quickly pieced it together. His heart tightened in sympathy. He hadn't known the full story of Jungkook's past, but he didn't need to.

The hurt was written all over his face.

Without a word, Taehyung reached out, gently taking Jungkook's hand in his. The touch was warm, grounding. He didn't say anything—didn't ask questions or try to offer empty words of comfort. Instead, he squeezed Jungkook's hand lightly, letting him know that he wasn't alone.
