Scorpius felt his skin burn on his left forearm. He clutched it and looked down at it. A grey dark mark was occupying his arm.

"Dad." He gulped. Draco's eyes widened as Scorpius brandished his dark mark. "I never thought this would happen." He gulped, "Dad why is this on my arm?" Draco looked extremely pale. "I thought that was a myth. It can't be real." Draco thought out loud.

"Dad, what is it?" Scorpius insisted on an answer. "Apparently, if a death eater, renounced or active, has kin, whenever they kill something with a soul, their soul is ripped and they begin to evolve a dark mark. I had a faint dark mark when I was fourteen because of this curse."

Lilli looked thoughtful. "But, kin doesn't only mean children. It's family."

"Does that mean if Hermione kills someone, she'll get a dark mark?" Ginny asked as she slowly understood. Draco nodded. He felt so ashamed.

He walked forwards into the living room. No one dared follow him. He had found his mother. "You lied to me!" He snarled. So loudly that the people in the drawing room heard. "You told me that myth had faltered and was no longer active!" Narcissa cried at her son's anger. He rolled his eyes.

"Draco, I know your son is dying. I know how you can save him. I know you no longer trust me, but it's the only chance you have. I know it works because, when you were eleven, your father sliced your neck with a knife. This was how I stopped you from dying. Your son has to kill something with a soul." Narcissa told him. Draco scoffed. "Do you know something with a soul that won't move while it's being killed?" Narcissa looked solemn. "Me. I don't want to live. The only things I had in life were you, your father and my sister. You hate me and Lucius and Bellatrix are dead." Draco looked slightly gutted. He had a look on his face as though he had just seen someone brutally killed.

Narcissa let Harlow kill her. Despite Harlow refusing for an hour.

Both boys were scarred with dark marks.

Ron and Harry were talking to Hermione when Ron said - "I bet you regret marrying him." Hermione shook her head. "I'll never regret it." She turned away from them and tried to mask her anger and devastation.
