All good things take time and effort, let's just hope what they say is right. Many sleepless nights, relentlessly cruel dieting plans and bad attitude, eventually two months had passed by and they were getting closer to debut. So much had occurred in these past two months, where to even begin...

Hyebin recalled how she'd stay up with Mirae in the studio so she could learn dance, which she was lacking in most of all out of the main three positions. After staying up, she'd go and help Youngji in the mornings before school, teaching her techniques and dropping her off on her way to the company, where she would then learn vocal techniques from Sooyeon while waiting for their actual vocal trainer. After she would hit the gym with Jiyeon and Subin to gain muscles and keep in shape so they would have enough stamina on stage to keep up with the heavy choreographies. Then after she would go back to the dorm and be nagged at by Sunhye while eating her disgustingly plain diet food before finally heading to her room, which she shared with Mirae, and finally catching a small nap before it was time to get up again.

As the days towards their debut release hastily approached, the schedules became more packed with recording sessions, fake interviews, practising choreos and photoshoots to find their good angles and poses. Everything seemed so gruelling and tiring but in the end, Hyebin and the rest of the girls knew it would pay off, even if they remained a nugu group.

Due to the beginning of spring emerging, their concept was wonderfully designed to capture the flowering essence of spring and give it freshness with some soothing yet upbeat vocals, eye-catchingly attractive choreo and a charming brief rap verse weaved in to develop and improve its appeal to various peoples tastes. Everything was perfect... That was until Sunhye got kicked out. All members of the group were distraught, they didn't like her attitude much but their debut was right around the corner but now they would have to re-record everything and adjust the choreo to fit six members.

Sooyeon was most aggravated, which surprised the girls as she was usually quite calm and reserved. Sooyeon had argued with Sunhye the day she came to move her things out of the apartment and blamed her for being irresponsible for being caught in a relationship with her new boyfriend, or rather boy toy who she had only just met 3 weeks before and had slept with him in their dorm, especially since she had the room beside Youngji's to herself and could have made her uncomfortable.

Despite the setbacks, once again they were back on track a week later and had enough time to do a street performance to create and expand their fanbase and promote their group before the big debut showcase.

Finally, the weeks had passed by in a bustling blur and everything was ready. It was the day of their debut release and the girls had been promoting on their group sns thoroughly, despite a full schedule leading up to debut and had managed to build up a modest-sized following of over 4,000. The majority being foreigners, who would probably help to promote and would buy their song on streaming sites, but what they really required right now were Korean supporters as they depended on them to turn up to events and help promote their group and song within the country.

Hyebin hoped that somehow, the song would hit big even if they become a one-hit-wonder but the likelihoods of that were rare, so instead, she settled on the idea that they would at least chart within the top 100 on a streaming site and that any fans would show up to their live stage today.

"Mode-L!" A staff member called out, causing the members to step forward out of the line.

The group name was chosen after much consideration. They debated and in the end came to the conclusion that the most suitable name would be 'Mode-L' pronounced Mode L which was a play on the word model as they came from a company where the trainees were mainly models. Some members changed their name for debut e.g. Min Subin combined her name to form the stage name Minsu, Yoo Mirae also merged her name to form the stage name Yoomi. The rest chose to use their first names as their stage name, however, Lee Jiyeon did consider EJ at one point.

"You're on stage in 10, you have 15 seconds from then to get into position before the lights turn back on. Good luck with your debut." The staff member then did the count of 10 on his fingers before ushering them onto the stage.

As they entered the stage, a member from the previous stage came off the wrong way, accidentally bumping shoulders with Hyebin, whose ankle rolled over due to the impact of his shoulder and the heels she was wearing. Luckily, he grabbed a hold of her wrist and managed to keep her up before she could fall and injure her ankle severely.

"Sorry," Hyebin whispered before, pulling away from him and hurrying into her position with 4 seconds left and a slightly throbbing ankle.

The boy group member found himself shocked as she had apologised for his mistake then ran away before he could apologise. Quickly he regained himself and hurried off the stage, however, instead of returning to his dressing room immediately, he decided to stand by the stage and observe the rookie group perform, his eyes never parting from Hyebin, who danced with so much passion that he couldn't even tell she wasn't the main dancer.

Hyebin's heart was racing, though, it wasn't due to nervousness. She felt at home, being on stage singing, dancing, rapping... hearing their fans and even fans of other groups chant for them was filling her heart with so much joy. This was a moment she would remember forever...

Not just because of her debut...
