I woke up with the lack of heat next to me, my eyebrows scrunch in confusion as I try to work out where mom is. I slowly open my eyes to see Remus as dazed and confused as I am. I blink the tiredness out of my eyes before heading to the door to see what was going on. There was a man about thirty, black hair, dark brown eyes with anger flaring in them.

He had on a nice grey suit with a briefcase in his hands. Moms yelling and I slowly decide to back away so the man won't see me but still watch. The man says something with his nose upturned and coldness in his eyes. Mom wails with tears running down her face. The guy looks to be raising his voice a bit.

Mom yells again but this time I see Remus run past me, wielding his mace and launching himself at the guy. I run up behind them and try to grab the back of Remus's shirt to pull him off but mom just pulls me back. I look back at her confused and she just shakes her head. She pulls me into a hug, wrapping her arms around my neck and kissing my temple.

Remus walks back in and I see that the guy is now gone and Remus looks pissed. I decide it would be best to not ask about what happened as mom leads me into the kitchen and has me and Remus sit down while she makes diner. I anxiously tap my fingers against the table while staring off out the window until I feel one of the two grab my hand.

I look down to see Remus's hand holding mine and I feel a blush spread across my face. A tiny smile pulls at my lips as I look up and see Remus looking at me. He smiles back starts tapping morse code on my hand. Him and I decided to learn morse code solely for the purpose that we thought it would be fun, turns out it's more useful than we thought.

'That guy was talking about taking you away from your Ivy' He taps with a sad, distant look in his eyes. 'Why' I tap and he hesitates, looking at moms' back before focusing on our hands. 'He kept saying you weren't safe here and that you would be happier in an orphanage than this hell hole' He taps and I see anger flare in his eyes again.

'It's ok I'm not going anywhere" I assure him and I see him give a soft smile and stare at me for a second before puffing out his cheeks and turning away, his face and the tips of his ears turning scarlet. I let another small smile show before turning back to the window.

Neither one of us willing to let go of the others hand.
