The moon was silver and a young boy of 5 sat on a log huddled with his mother. the snow was falling softly around them, and then the mother started to hum.

"What song is that mommy?", asked the boy, his emerald eyes glittering like jewels.

"It's not a song my dear, it's a tune...", she paused. Then the mother turned away dabbing her eyes and standing up, "I'm sorry Rowan... I-I-I've got to get something, stay here". Rowan looked confused; his mother smoothed his shiny black hair then walked into the darkness beyond. "Goodbye Rowan... this is for your legacy...", whispered the lady, so quietly that Rohan didn't hear.

Rohan woke up, his head hurt, his legs ached. And he still had the bruise from which Félic gave him yesterday. They were practising their punches and Rowan wasn't ready, so next thing he knew he was on the floor clutching his cheek and coughing.

"Phantom wind!", roared a low and angry voice, "Get up this instant, you lazy idiot!". Rowan jumped out of bed and hung his head in Shame.

"Sorry, sir Castor", mumbled Rowan.

"SPEAK LOUDER!"

"Sorry, sir castor!", Rowan Repeated. Then Castor took hold of Rowan's collar, aggressively,

"Next time, I catch you sleeping in, it'll be the whip", spat Castor. "I've taught you for 2 years already, and you still don't get the rules right! You know, I don't blame your mother for dumping you! Your just useless, and Lazy as well", Castor Sneered.

"Don't talk about my mother!", growled Rowan, anger boiling up inside him.

"Oh yeah? And what can you do about that", teased Castor. That had done it.

"THIS!", screamed Rowan. He went crazy then, his arms flailing punching Castor anyway he could, and kicking his face as well. He finished saying, "Castor... you've taught me well.... Even though you didn't know it".
