"Go meet some people, make some friends before the first day tomorrow!" Mom yelled out the window as I headed down our new driveway. It was hard to be pissed at her for making us move when I saw how happy my new stepdad, Brandon, makes her. But still, I was plucked out of my happy life in New York, and moved to Nowhere, North Carolina. I had friends in New York, I had made a reputation for myself that would take a while to build back up.

"Watch where you're going, asshole!" I screamed as a boy on a skateboard nearly collided with me head-on. He knocked me off balance and I tripped in the ditch next to the sidewalk. I felt pain shoot up my leg, and I already knew something was sprained or broken. No, not broken, I don't think. But possibly sprained.

I heard a noise and saw another boy whirring down the street. He looked eerily similar to the other one, and I wondered if history would repeat and he would flatten me like roadkill. There was no way I could get up and move out of the way, so I just turned my head as he got closer and closer. Thankfully, he screeched to a stop before he hit me.

"Jesus, are you alright?"

"Just freakin peachy. Some idiot on a skateboard knocked me over and I think my ankle is sprained." The boy ran his hand through his long, dark hair and flipped it out of his eyes. His eyes were astoundingly blue, and he was definitely different than the boys I was used to seeing on the New York streets. He was cute.

"Damn it, Hayes." he muttered. The blue-eyed boy reached his arm out and I expected him to pull me up, instead he full-out picked me up. He was holding me bridal style. "Uh, sorry, I just didn't want you to put pressure on it."

"It's alright. Thanks. My house is just right there,"

"Oh, the blue one? You must be the new neighbor." Neighbor? "I live in the white house two doors down and across." I nodded. "I'll take you to my house real quick, and have my mom bandage your ankle, she's a nurse." He headed towards his house.

"You don't have to do that. I'll be fine."

"No, I owe you. It was my idiot younger brother, Hayes, that ran you over. I'll make us some ice cream and you can tell me about yourself." He smiled, he actually seems genuinely nice. His brother, not so much.

"What's your name by the way, my mystery savior?"

He laughed, "My name's Nash. And you are?"

"Brylee Dean. It's nice to meet to Nash."

"You too, Brylee. It's not everyday that my brother runs over cute girls and I get to rescue them. I mean, its happened, but not that often." I laughed and we headed into his house.

A few hours later, Nash and I were chilling in lawn chairs in my backyard after heading back to my house. His mother was very nice and had said my ankle was only sprained, but I would have to take crutches to the first day at my new school tomorrow. Just great.

Nash and I just basically talked about life. He told me about his best friend Cam and all the people at their school and I told him stories of my friends back home. Nash was super chill and a lot more awesome than I expected.

Eventually, Nash had to go home. Mom was happy I made a friend, and said she thought Nash was pretty cute. I told her I thought we would just be friends, but he was really funny and laid back. I was nervous to see if we had any classes together tomorrow.

- Three months Later -

The first day of school went fine, and so has every other day. I have 3 of my 7 classes with Nash. What I don't have with Nash, I have with Cam or Cam's girlfriend (and my best friend besides Nash,) Aria. Nash and me have grown really close over the last few months, he comes over almost every day or I go to his house. Mostly we watch movies. We play cards a lot too, Hayes joins every now and then, but usually we go to my house if Hayes is home.
