there is a reason
that goes beyond
the matter of time
does it explain
the tightness of my chest
and the pounding it begets?
have I felt this before?
just once have I known
oh, so long ago
I couldn't speak my mind
in that time
and I hoped it'd go away
this feeling is still
so unknown to me
oh how I wish
that I could
believe in you
