Chapter 3: How We Met Part 1

Mee-Yon
"Careful, it's hot. Make sure you blow it, okay?"

Mee-Yon said as she handed the small bowl to Shin-Ah.

He nods and blows the small bowl and slowly drinks the warm, hot water.

Mee-Yon looks outside.

Mee-Yon
"It's been raining for quite some time now."

Shin-Ah
"Uh-huh."

Mee-Yon
"Hopefully, the bottle outside doesn't overflo--"

The moment Mee-Yon said that, rain water started to overflow the bottle.

Mee-Yon
"And... I jinx myself."

Mee-Yon stood up and took the overflowing water bottle, and poured it onto an empty pot.

Mee-Yon
"There! One more bottle of rain water and we're all set!"
"Hm?"

She noticed Shin-Ah standing up.

Mee-Yon
"Shin-Ah? What's wrong?"

Shin-Ah didn't say anything and walked outside.

Mee-Yon
"H-Hey!"

She then noticed the hot water that was still steaming on his small bowl.

Mee-Yon *thinking*
(Was the water too hot?)

Mee-Yon was going to follow him, but noticed Shin-Ah was using a huge leaf to cover a squirrel.

Mee-Yon
"Why... is there a squirrel there, sitting on a rock in the middle of the rain?"

For a while, the squirrel stared at him and...

Mee-Yon
"The squirrel ate the leaf!!"

Both Shin-Ah and the squirrel stare at each other for a while more.

Mee-Yon
"Next time, don't go outside in the rain, Shin-Ah."
"You're shivering cold."

Mee-Yon gave the now big white, fluffy ball Shin-Ah the small bowl of hot water, looking worried.

Shin-Ah
"I'm sorry I made you worried, Mee-Yon."

He said as he blew on the small bowl and slowly drank the hot water.

Mee-Yon
"No, no it's okay, Shin-Ah."
"I'll warm up some water for you, so you can use it to bathe later."
"But..."

Shin-Ah
"But?"

Mee-Yon
"How long does the squirrel plan on eating my shoe?"

Mee-Yon *thinking*
(I'm worried that it could stuff more than a shoe in its mouth.)

Squirrel
"Kyuu?"

Mee-Yon
"Do not look at me with those sparkly eyes."

Shin-Ah
"You don't like her, Mee-Yon?"

Mee-Yon *thinking*
(It's a her?!)

Mee-Yon
"That's... not really the case."

The squirrel came up to Mee-Yon's shoulders and... jumped, using its mouth to hang on her ear lobe.

Mee-Yon
"I had a feeling she might try to eat me."

Mee-Yon *thinking*
(I'll see if I could make something for her to nibble instead.)
