Peter walked down the street. It was his normal route after school, headphones in until he found an alley to change into his Spiderman suit. He was dead tired after school and he had a backpack full of homework, but he always felt better after patrol.

Peter focused on his feet, speeding up the tempo to match the pace to the beat of his music. His short hair even flopped against his forehead in time, though that might be because he was bobbing his head slightly to the beat. He could get in at least an hour of patrol before he had to be home and do his homework.

Peter ducked into an alleyway, double checking with his eyes as well as his spider-sense that no one was there to see him. He pulled on his spider suit and grabbed his backpack. Climbing to the roof of the next building, he webbed it into a corner.

Standing on the edge of the building, Peter- now Spiderman- dropped.

As the air rushed past him he shot out a web, nearly laughing with joy when it hit the next building.

The rush of adrenaline he felt while being Spiderman was exhilarating. Peter swung for a few minutes, enjoying the freedom that only came with the anonymity of Spiderman.

Flipping into a perch, Peter settled onto a rooftop.

"Hey Karen," He started, "What's up?"

"Hello Peter," The AI's voice spoke from his mask, "there is a robbery in progress two blocks away. Would you like directions?"

"Which way Karen?" Peter stood up and stretched, let a string of web shoot forward.

Swing, swoop. Swing, swoop. He swung at the cadence he had perfected, following Karen's directions. He reached the store much faster thanks to their routine. Thwip, thwip, turn, thwip, turn, it had become a comfortable way to get around.

There were three robbers that Peter could see. Landing quietly in the doorway, he snuck up the wall behind them. Unfortunately, before he could warn them to be silent, one of the hostages gave him away with a gasp.

The four turned, aiming their guns at him. He couldn't tell which one of them shot first but the bullets ripped through the air. Dodging them he shot a web, pining one man to the ground, webbing his gun out of his reach just after.

Trying to figure out who to focus on next he dropped to the ground, landing lightly, but right at the barrel of one of the robber's guns. His arm jetted up on instinct, knocking the gun out of the robber's hand. Sweeping the legs out from under the man Peter almost had him webbed down when his Spidey sense alerted him to someone else.

Shooting a web at the now gun-less robber Peter spun, the eyes on his mask widening as he dodged a punch meant for the back of his head.

"Hey man," Peter was slightly out of breath, "not cool."

Peter punched back, pulling his strength so he would only knock the man out.

"Another one bites the dust," He quipped.

The last man turned to run, evidently seeing what had happened to his partners.

Peter's eyes widened in amusement behind the mask before sending a web to cut the man off before the doorway.

"Oh and another one gone, another one bites the dust," Peter's web got the man's feet causing him to topple over.

"I assume you can call the police from here?" Peter deepened his voice just slightly addressing the civilian hostages.

"Ye-yes," an older gentleman with gray hair and a mustache answered him.

"Thank you Spiderman!" A small kid, probably about nine or ten, looked ecstatic. Her mom looked much more shaken than thrilled but nodded her thanks as well.

"A-all in a day's work," Peter was a little taken aback by the thanks and had to remember to deepen his voice. With a little salute he skipped backwards out the door, already seeing police cars approaching the building.

Swinging off after stopping a bank robbery seemed like a fantastic way to start his patrol.

"Hey Karen?"

"Yes Peter?"

"Could you play my patrol playlist? On shuffle please?"

"Of course, should we start with Another One Bites the Dust?"

"Thanks K."
