C H A P T E R 2
I walked into the dorm room and adjusted to area I would call home for the next year. The walls were painted a pale cream colour, and on each side of the room was a bed. Since we were on the top floor, we had the biggest rooms in the building, which means we should have personal washrooms. I turned around to look for them when I heard a squeal.
A petite redhead popped up from the bed on the other side of the room,
"Oh my god, you must be Alexis!! I'm Chelsea, but you can call me Chels. Its so nice to meet you!!" She squealed, wrapping her arms around me.
"Nice to meet you too!" I exclaimed
"Thank goodness, I was afraid that I would get some weird and strange roommate but you're the perfect roomie! I've always imagined having a roommate like you!" she joyously proclaimed as she held my shoulders.
As soon as we finished out introductions, I began to unpack. She was a really likeable person and I knew we would become good friends really soon, I was actually extremely glad that I had a roommate I felt close to already. It was comforting to have someone I could trust here since I was so far away from home and my best friends had gone to different colleges across the country.
"What!? you didn't know!?" Chelsea squealed. Like she had been ever since we got onto the subject of boys, now she was going on about some party that was happening tonight.
"Chads going to be there, and Jeff, omg Jeff, the hot guy with the gorgeous pecs from Alpha Psi Delta is going to be mine by the end of the night!" she giggled.
I laughed at her outrageous fangirling and continued unpacking. It hasn't even been 2 hours since i arrived but with chelsea's outgoing personality, i felt like we were best friends already.
"Should i wear my black Jeffrey Campbells or my black toms?" she asked scrunching her nose,
"the jeff campbells definitely, they'll make your ass look bigger" I replied. I couldn't stop thinking about how rude boy I ran into earlier was, as hot as he was, I reminded myself that boys like that would only cause trouble. I was here to study, and have a bit of fun, but mainly to study. I couldn't let anyone taint the new life I was making for myself here, this was a place where I could be the person I am now, and do what I wanted, this was the beginning of the rest of my life.
"ALEX!", i heard Chelsea yell as I snapped out of my trance.
"WHAT, WHAT DO YOU WANT?" I yelled back from the room.
"Come meet our new dormmates!" she said with a giggle.
"Alright, alright i'm coming!" i yelled as i pulled off my hoodie. I was halfway to the door when i realized that i was only wearing a bikini and high waisted shorts, earlier i had planned to go visit the beach right after i settled in, but by the looks of it, unpacking was going to take longer than i thought. Crap. I didn't want our new dormmates to get the wrong idea about me. I searched frantically around the room to find something to cover myself up but it was too late.
"Dammnnn, who's this?" a male voice called out, I turned around to see a boy bearing a striking resemblance to Justin Bieber with the biggest smirk on his face. My cheeks immediately flushed with embarrassment, "H-h-hi, I'm Alexis..." i reached my hand out expecting him to shake it, "but most people call me Alex". I was not going to lie, this boy was extremely cute, he had big brown eyes and a small brown quiff on top of his head that was styled to perfection. He wrapped his large hand over mine and shook it firmly, "Very nice to meet you" he winked, "I'm Matt, but everyone calls me Matt". I giggled at his imitation of me, "Nice to meet you too" i replied shyly.
"So are you girls going to the biggest party on campus tonight?" he asked, as his friend let out a whoop from the hallway.
"Yeah for sure! If Chads there, then I'm there!" Chelsea said with a giggle.
"What about your cute friend over here?" He turned and gave me the most gorgeous dimpled smile I have ever seen.
"Umm.. I don't know, I still have to finish unpacking, and then I have to get my schedule, plus I don't even know where my classes are tomorrow morning so I should prob-"
"Let me stop you there" Matt cut me in the middle of my sentence. "How's this, if you go I can promise you that I'll get you back before one tonight, AND I'll personally take you to all your classes tomorrow so you won't get lost. What do you think? You have nothing to lose." He flashed me a toothy grin.
"I don't know..." I looked at Chelsea's pleading face as she gave me her best puppy dog eyes.
"Fine, just this once." I smiled as a gave in.
