 C H A P T E R  1

Relief washed over me as I carefully unfolded the piece of white paper and read the first word, "Congratulations".  I read on, "Congratulations Ms. Dorner it is our pleasure to inform you that you have been accepted into the department of arts at the University of California."

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH" a voice screamed out behind me, "HONEY YOU MADE IT, I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!!"

I turned around to find my mom with a grin stretched to her ear and tears in her eyes, "Thanks mom" I replied trying to hide my grin but I couldn't help it, I made it into UCLA the school that I've always wanted to go to, my dream school.

I was never the smartest kid, or even smart, I had to struggle to keep my grades up and often, I had to put in a lot of effort just to get an 'A', so getting into UCLA was a big deal for me.  I couldn't wait to experience college either; I couldn't wait to get a real taste of life away from my parents (not that I don't love them, its just that they can be a bit suffocating at times.) and to make new friends, and perhaps, the boy of my dreams.

I have never been the biggest social butterfly but I wasn't antisocial either, I was somewhere in between. I had friends; in fact, lots of them but there were only a couple that I was really tight with and that I could share intimate details of my life with.

As for my love life, I dated a boy in my junior year but we split up because he had to move away for his dad's job in North Carolina, thankfully things weren't so serious with us before he moved, so there weren't a lot of tears.

My friends often went to parties, and once in a while I'd let loose and party with them, but for the most part I was a pretty normal girl.  I didn't smoke and I didn't do drugs, and I have never, ever, gone further than second base.

I thought I could smell the fresh scent of college as we rolled by the main entrance to the school.

"Ahhhh, it smells like my future." I sighed

"My baby's all grown up and I can't even believe it." My mom said as a tear rolled down her cheek.  Why is she always so emotional? Its not like I won't see her again.

My mom found a parking spot and I stepped out of the car and onto the rough gravel.  We walked to the back of the truck and I flipped open the trunk.  "Theres my College girl!" My dad exclaimed, taking long strides towards me from the other side of the parking lot.

My parents divorced when I was little so I wasn't badly scarred from it, and I honestly didn't mind it.  I actually liked it better this way, it gave me more independence and trust from my parents and I didn't have as much pressure, they never gave me pressure because of their guilt towards me from the divorce.

"DAD!!!" I exclaimed, as he wrapped me into a tight embrace.  I barely got to see him these days though, because of his job and his new girlfriend Alma. " Thanks for coming dad" I said as i kissed his cheek with a grin.

"How could I not come? Its my baby's first day of University!" He grinned back.

"Thanks for coming you guys, but I think I can make it by myself from here."  I assured my parents with a comforting smile.

"Alright, but call both of us once you get settled! Okay?" My mom said worriedly

"Of course mom, I'm gonna miss you guys so much." I said as a hugged the both of them one last time before I grabbed my bags and headed into the main office.  The rest of my stuff was supposed to be delievered to my dorm already so I only had two bags with me at the moment.

I stood in front of the front entrance and tried to take it all in, I was finally in college, something I was never sure about. With confidence, I took in a big breath and walked into the foyer as I took out my phone to find the dorm details they emailed me. I proceeded down the white hallway to talk to one of the RAs that were helping other freshmen like me find their living quarters for the year.  I walked down the hall slowly and suddenly, I felt something like a wall in front of me.

"SHIT, ow what the hell!?" I looked up from the screen as I rubbed my forehead, standing in front of me was a boy in a maroon and white baseball tee with black skinny jeans and a black snapback.

"s-s-s-sorry about that, I didn't see you there" I stuttered.

"Right" he said with a smirk on his face.

"excuse me?" I replied, confused with his reaction

"You didn't have to do that just to get my attention." He said devilishly, with the smirk still on his face.

"What the fuck are you talking about?"  I said, offended. My eyes slowly adjusted and I saw the details on his face, he had brown hair, and tan skin with an almost flawless complexion.

"Whoa relaxxx, a little feisty aren't ya." He said with a goofy grin.

 CAMERONS POV

"Alright, alright I'm on my way, geez Nash you're so fucking impatient these days." I said annoyed, Nash was my best friend but he was getting on my nerves.

I walked down the main hall of the dormitory and noticed a girl with long brown hair walking towards me, she looked like the quiet type, smart and mousy. I didn't recall meeting her before so I thought I'd have a little fun with her.

"SHIT, ow that hurt!"  She exclaimed rubbing her forehead. As she looked up I felt chills running up my spine, she had the prettiest eyes and her lips, oh god her lips were so perfectly pink and plump.

"s-s-s-s-sorry about that I didn't see you there" she replied with a stutter. Her voice was so sweet, even when she stuttered. I smirked, she looked like she would be fun to play with.

"Right" I said with a smirk on my face.

"excuse me?" She replied, looking confused.

"You didn't have to do that just to get my attention." I said cheekily.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" She said, clearly offended. This one would be a bit of work, I thought.

"Whoa relaxxx, a little feisty aren't ya."

 ALEXIS POV

Holy shit, I couldn't believe this guy.  Right after our little accident, he walked off as if nothing happened and walked right past me.  I turned around to make a nasty remark, but when I turned, he was already talking to two other girls and grabbing one of them by the waist as she stroked his upper arm.  That must be his girlfriend, I thought,  she looked like a typical slutty blond with way too much makeup on.  Slightly annoyed and mostly pissed, I walked towards one of the volunteers and asked for directions to my dorm room.
