His thoughts trundled through his brain like a train, with no intention of stopping. As he watched it's tail lights winking in the distance, all trace of it leaving his neurons, his mind was still focused on the words Diana's father had said. The words moved rapidly in full cycles in his unsettled mind.
He was interrupted soon enough by a silent knock that was heard on his door.
" Come in "
Emma entered in his room. She appeared in the room with the winter snow that billowed around her skirt. Samson never seemed to pay attention to her beauty and tenderness, and some would agree that he was a lout to miss out on the grace that stood in front on him. With her blonde hair of wool and her head held high, Emma waltzed on with an effortless saunter. The clicking of her heels added rhythm to the soft wind that blew pass the chamber.
Her eyes scanned the room with determination in search of Samson. When her eyes met him, she smiled. " I came to ask something of you "
" And what do you intend to ask?"
" well I want to go to the mart tomorrow but Papa said that I have to seek you to come with me first before I go"
He nodded his head before he responded in a pessimistic tone " Well then if you really want to go then I'll take you"
A smile occurred on her soft features. " Thank you, tomorrow it is" She was about head out but she stopped halfway when she noticed the grim expression that was on his face.
" Are you doing well Samson? You look quite miserable" She walked closer to him and stopped when she was the distance between them were close enough " If you wish to discuss anything with me, you can "
He went silent for a while before he answered " No I am in no need of a discussion right now Emma"
"As you wish" She replied and began to distance herself away from him.
" Actually stay, a portable talk would be decent," He mumbled as he stopped her in her tracks.
" It's about that woman, Diana am I right?" She asked as she walked up towards and sat beside him.
" Yes, I stress that it is"
"What about her?"
" Her father offered me a place to be her private secretary when she does become Queen. And I remarkably don't know if I have made the right decision, to be honest with you"
" Do you think you may have any regrets if you do become her royal council?"
He turned his face to face her. " I fear that I may have no regrets in my life, but this" His voice shook with every word " That if I do not take this chance, I may not have the chance to be with her in the future to come"
" And your willing to sacrifice your whole future ahead for her Samson?"
" yes... What more can a man ask for, than to be close to their beloved"
" Then listen to your heart" She paused before she resumed. " you know Samson when two people are deeply In love you can see it in their eyes and behaviour and honestly I can see it in yours now. Your love for her is sincere and true, so if that's what your heart beats for, you should perhaps listen and listen carefully to it"
She at that moment knew that the words she had spoken were something she wished samson would feel for her, but unfortunately, reality slapped her in her face. Emma certainly loved samson even though he didn't. But although Emma truly loved him, she could see even more how deeply he loved Diana. Every atom of her being still longed for him, though every atom of his being didn't. And as painful as it was she couldn't wish more than to see him relieved of his pain and anguish.

Diana glared outside her window, she examined the nature that roamed around her. The birds freely flapped their lifeless wings and the glorious flowers freely swayed to the sweet, pleasant blow of the wind that swept past it.
She continued to haze at the limitless, countless blanket of stars. The sky was black tranquillity married to the poetry of stars. It was the softness that called her body and brain to rest and let her beating heart goes to its steady rhythm. Night came sending the radiant sun away.
"My lady"
She turned back from the chair she sat on.
" The dinner for tonight is ready. Your father is waiting for you to come"
" I see," She said as she got up from her seat.
The young maiden made her way out of her chambers, and not soon after she made her way out too.
Her father was seated opposite the table. Her father still didn't look quite well enough to be seated in the dining room, the physician had said for him to stay in his chambers but clearly, this order wasn't heeded.
" Papa, you should be at your chambers, you still don't look too well I must say" she noted as she took her seat opposite her fathers.
" I may still look nauseous, however, I needed a break from my chambers"
" If that what pleases you, then so be it"
She held a wooden platter towards her. There was a piece of warm bread with a piece of melting yellow butter and a thick, slice of roasted pork. She started to dig into the flavorful food and grabbed the pork with her knife and ripped it with a bit of butter.
" I have considered your question about that lad, and have decided to let him be your private ser council once you become Queen."
Words left her. She stared into her father's bright hazel eyes burning with anger, and her heart fell silent. “What do you think ?”
“ it's a reasonable notion but that wasn't what I asked of you papa? ” she demanded. " I inquired for you to pardon him not promote him to be my private secretary"
Her father put his knife and fork down and began to speak once again " isn't this what you always wanted, but now that I have allowed him to be by your side, you refuse it"
" But you clearly know the result of this papa."
"I do. I know it very well Diana" He continued " I do know this. That this conclusion is more suited for both of you "
She has never felt so much rage until now when pushed into passivity against her will. " excuse me", She declared as she got up from her seat and sauntered out of the room in Fury.
