Shadows

The night's chill caresses my face

As the shadows behind me give chase

I can keep running but it's useless

As fleeing just stalls my fate

Save yourself now, dig out of your grave

It may be too late for me, but for you it is not

Take my downfall as a lesson

One that I was never taught

The shadows envelop me in their darkness

And start to pull me down below

This is end for me

As they say, "you reap what you sow"

Like phantoms, I've become one of them

To forever wander the nightly realm

Save yourself now, dig out of your grave

If not, you might see a similar fate.
