Camila entered the house and went straight to the kitchen. She bet Shawn would kill for a coffee right now, he had been working hard all morning. She made him one and a tea for herself because one coffee lasted her a long time. She was thinking of George as she took the elevator to avoid spilling the coffee. She had a strange feeling about him. She didn't believe he had been there by accident and she had an awful feeling he was a reporter. Luckily Shawn wasn't with her, but now she wondered if her fake name and accent was going to backfire on her and make her seem like an idiot in a soon-to-be published online article. She entered the bedroom but Shawn wasn't there and his laptop was closed. She walked down to the other bedroom, thinking he may have gone looking for her and be sorting through the clues again.
He was there, he stood with his hands in his pockets, watching the doorway, unsurprised when she walked in.
"Hi baby, I brought you a coffee. Have you finished your meetings? Wanna do some sleuthing with me?"
"What have you been doing while I was working?" he asked in an odd tone.
She looked at him strangely and put the cups down on the desk.
"Well, actually, I went outside because...."
"For a walk?"
"Well, sort of..."
"Alone?"
"Of course alone. Shawn stop interrupting me so I can actually answer the original question!"
He frowned at her and shoved his fists even more firmly into his pockets.
"Go on then," he said.
"Well I was standing pretty much where you are and I looked out the window and...."
She realised immediately what had happened. He had seen her with George and had thought the worst. She looked at his face. He looked......scared. Insecure. Worried. Angry.
"....I saw a strange person jump the fence and head for the secret garden so I went down to tell them it was private property."
"Who was this 'person'?" he asked.
"He says his name is George, but I don't know, I have a weird feeling about him. I think he might be a reporter. I'd say paparazzi but no camera." She shrugged. "He asked a few questions and he seemed interested in me," she felt herself blush. "I mean, in who I was."
"I bet," Shawn said. She smiled and walked up to him, slipping her arms around his middle and looking up at him mischievously.
"Are you jealous baby?" she teased.
He blushed and she giggled. "Well, he was cute I suppose, in a strange kind of way...."
"I thought you were running off with him," he said and there was a small amount of truth in that, in the level of worry that was audible in his voice.
"With some guy I literally just met? I know you don't mean that, but just so you know, I love you, and I don't want anyone else but you." She gave him a cheeky smile. "Doesn't mean I can't look though!"
"So he was cute was he?" Shawn said, backing her up to the bed.
"Not as cute as you baby." She said softly, as he leaned in and kissed her hard.
"YOOHOO!!" came a strange female voice from the stairs. The stood up and looked to the doorway. A tall woman in her sixties walked in and the first thing Camila thought when she saw her was she hoped she looked like that when she was that age. She wore her hair in a pixie cut and it had obviously gone white but she had a lavender-grey rinse through it making it look modern and chic, her make-up was artfully applied giving her a youthful, natural look and she was very attractive. She must have been stunning when she was young because she still was now.
