Hello. Sorry, for a late update but I hope you like it :).
"So, are you really sure the plan is going to work out ?" I asked for the hundredth time already. I knew it was irritating her, therefore resulting into my constant questioning.
"God, this is enough ! How many times should I tell you ? I have worked through this. Look, the murderers cannot be anyone in your family. So it's definitely either one of your high school kid. We just have to go and observe them." Ambriel said slowly with an irritated expression as if she was repeating ABC to a child for the hundreth time. I passed her an amused smile.
"Alright. I get it. But I didn't really have any enemies out there. Everyone loved me. I was worshipped" I proudly said, flipping my hair to one side dramatically and showing some sass.
"Probably that's what got you killed. Your over-attitude, arrogance, air headed mind, ego, self-conceit, whatever you call it." Ambriel replied amusedly and I gave her a salute from my middle finger. Ambriel rolled her eyes.
"It is really important? I mean, just two days ago we went there. Why not go today somewhere else. We are ghosts ! Come on, we can probably go and visit Eiffel Tower or something !" I effervesced and she sighed.
"You don't want to cross over, do you? Do you really don't want that peaceful afterlife ?" She whispered and I frowned. Why has she suddenly gotten so serious ? She really is very different from all the other girls. She seems tough, yet sensitive. She seems stone-faced, yet has a very kind heart. Well, I can't really say anything much about her since I haven't known her for a long time.
"I do. I just, I just want to experience this too, you know. I don't really want to get away from human life and earth right now. I want to get used to it a bit. And also, take advantage of the situation I am in right now ! We have plenty of time" I re-assured her and put my hand on her shoulder. She stiffened.
Such a weird reaction, I thought. I had just touched her on the shoulder, why did she stiffen up ? I did not want to make her anymore uncomfortable so I removed my hand. She visibly relaxed.
"Alright then. I have a place in mind. We are not going to Eiffel Tower. Just some other place" She showed a tiny smile and I grinned full on.
"Cool ! So were is this place ?" Excitement was clear in my voice like a child on christmas.
"You'll see" Smirking, she took my hand and didn't flinch a bit. It was really confusing to me, she could touch me wherever she wanted, I could hold her hand. But whenever I tried to touch her arm, or shoulder, or hair or perhaps any other thing, she would flinch and stiffen up.
While havin those thoughts, in a period of probably a nano-second, we were in a whole new place.
The smell of moss and decaying leaves entered my nose and I scrunched it up. I peered around, and found various tombstones here and there. Few were broked and tumbled. There were many unwanted weeds on the ground within thick uncut grass. Moss and lichen was growing on those tombstones with weather-worn inscriptions. I felt very close, oppressed, and creeped out.
This was a cemetry, and a rather unkempt, neglected one. I wonder what we were doing here. As if reading my expression, Ambriel answered that for me.
"You just noticed the appearance of the cemetry. Look closely, feel it and then tell me" Ambriel smiled and I held a confused expression. I stepped a few steps forward and looked closely.
"Holy shit !" I exclaimed and stepped back. There were people ! Deadly people. They were even more see-through than me. If you look at me, you could still mistook me for a guy who had not eaten since days. But looking at these guys and gals, it's certain they are ghosts !
