"i-" Shinsou paused. "i don't know."

•••

eventually, of course, dinner rolled around, and Hitoshi being an obedient little prince, waited patiently, pacing back and forth in his large, well-decorated bedroom.

"maybe if i just- read him a few verses- i'll write a report, or something" Shinsou exclaimed.

"you could always just kill him or something." Monoma replied, completely nonchalant.

"no, neito, i will not be killing my father during dinner."

"why? it'd make an angsty, 'god my dad sucks and i hate him' chapter."

"yeah, sure. but for real, i don't know how to do this- i don't actually talk to my dad i just do what he tells me because it's easy-" he whined.

"ooh i have an idea, grab your best friend and bang him over the edge of the table, i'm sure that'd get your point across."

"you're no help, are you?"

"maybe not to you, but i know a couple ways you could help me~"

"please stop talking."

Hitoshi never came up with a real plan.

At dinner, though, to his dismay, Kaminari was also seated at the table, and, it seemed, he was seated next to him.

He felt his ears get red, and, while trying to act nonchalant, he instead went tripping into his chair whilst everyone stared in silence.

"are you done now, Hitoshi?" his father asked. "or would you prefer if i clapped, considering those looked as if they were your first steps."

"you could always just kill him or something" the words rang in his head.

Hito took the initiative to just sit still and look pretty as the food was brought out, cooked chicken, large pots of rice, expensive looking fish, etc. The Queen said a prayer, which, was normal, and they began to eat.

The air was quite thick, Kaminari has breathed in as if he was going to say something, but never did. the clicking of the silver utensils on the fine china as they are in silence.

"this is um- really good-" Denki eventually said, everyone else's heads snapping up.

"please refrain from speaking at the table, Prince." the king spoke.

"okay." The blond whispered, his face growing red as he started sweating a bit, tapping his foot on the marble floor.

Shinsou had cleared his plate first, followed by Denki, then his mother, then his father.

"you may speak." the oldest man proclaimed.

Nobody did.

"Well i'll start- Prince Denki, i've been told that your butler invited my son to stay at your kingdom, is that correct?"

"yes, your Highness"

"It seems that our two kingdoms are very different, morally at least, care to go into depth about that?"
