"Robin!"
"Robin wake up!"

someone was shaking me awake.

"huh? what? where are we?" I fumbled.

"Divination dimwit" said Marlene rolling her eyes.

"You fell asleep" said James.

"yeah I realised that, funnily enough" I muttered.

I was having such a nice dream, and these idiots just had to wake me up.

They woke you for your own good.
I reasoned with myself.

The professor didn't seem to have noticed that I had drifted off during his lecture, because he was fluttering flamboyantly around the classroom, making dumb predictions.

I chose to ignore them.

"thanks for waking me up" I told the others.

"no problem" said Marlene winking.

"Marlene Mckinnon, are you hitting on me?" I said, supressing a laugh.

"you wish" she snorted.
"I belong to Dorcas, and Dorcas only."

"I know, my little lesbian lamb." I laughed.

After divination we had DADA.
my favourite.

We met up with the others on the third floor landing, and together we triapsed up to the DADA classroom.

The class was good as normal.

I had been granted permission to go to the restroom during potions, but instead I went to the kitchens and got a few bars of chocolate from the ever obliging house elves.

Of course I didn't go back to potions.
I went up to the hospital wing, where I found Remus awake, and sitting up, a book propped up on his knee.

"You always reading?" I asked.

"yeah, if you count out the times I'm sleeping." he said chuckling.
"or when I've transformed." he added as an afterthought.

I felt my smile droop a bit.
if only I could make his transformations less painful.

"what's wrong?" he asked.

"what?- oh nothing!" I waved the thought away.
"I brought chocolate" I said, taking it out of my pocket.

"ah, you're the best!" he said to me.

I tossed him a bar and sat on a chair, kicking my boots (yes I wore boots)
off and putting my pink, fluffy socked feet on his bed.

He raised an eyebrow at my feet.

"hey!" I said, pretending to be stern.
"I don't give a shit how pink, girly, or sissy these are, but these socks are my favourite."

"I didn't say anything" said Remus, fighting a laugh.

suddenly, I remembered something.

"my brother gave me this socks as a joke" I said and them laughed softly at the memory.
"he was so surprised that I actually liked them."

I must have looked a little sad, because Remus took my hand and squeezed it.
My stomach did a backflip.

"how long did Madam Pomfrey say you have to stay here?" I asked, hoping for the life of me that I wasn't blushing.

"a couple of days" he replied.
"then I'll be free to go"

"cool" I said, tossing him another bar, seeing as he had already devoured the first one.

"thanks" he said after a few minutes.

"for?"

"your company" he said, smiling his beautiful smile. "and the chocolate"

"no problem, bro"

bro?

I sort of felt like my insides were shrivelling with embarrassment.

"well, I have to get back for the next class" I said.

"oh... okay." he sounded a little disappointed.

"I'll come around later" I reassured him.
"and and I'll bring our homework"

"yeah thanks" he said, looking reassured.

I closed the hospital door behind me and began to walk towards the greenhouses.

He was disappointed that I left.
only 'cause he's your best friend.
or so you think.
or so I know.

The two sides of my concience debated for a while, until I reached the greenhouse door.

I pulled it open and snuck in, walking cautiously towards the rest of the class from behind the honking daffodils, so that professor Sprout wouldn't see I was late.

Lily handed me my bag when I reached, and sat next to her.

"thanks" I whispered.

"no problem." she said.
"where we're you?"

"uh- common room" I said, lying shamelessly.

"yeah right" she smirked

I chose to pretend I didn't hear that particular comment.

I got bored of the lecture pretty early on, and took to looking around at the various plants, seeing as they were replaced occasionally, depending on the season.

Then I saw them.

A splash of bright blue in the midst of green leaves.

forget -me -nots.

The dream I had during divination came back to me all at once.

my eyes prickled as I fought back the tears.

"what is it?" asked Lily, looking at me worriedly.

I snapped my eyes away from the flowers, wiping them hastily.

"nothing, just allergic to pollen."

I faked a sneeze, which wasn't difficult.

Lily seemed to believe that because she patted me on the back and turned to the front again saying
"bless you"

We had quidditch practice after lunch.
There was only a week until the match, and we had to beat Slytherin, and win the cup.

Practice went well as usual, though it was a little dull for me without Remus cheering in the stands.

I changed out of my quidditch robes and left the changing rooms with James and Sirius.

"hmm, fancy a trip to Hogsmeade?" asked Sirius.

"I'm down" agreed James.

"okay" I said.
"we can get some butterbeer back for Remus."

The other two shared a smirk.

"oh shut up" I said.
"we need to stock up on firewhiskey anyway"

"for what?"

"for our party!" I said "when we beat Slytherin's arse at Quidditch."

"good idea"

We decided not to take Peter this time,
because he would probably get stuck in the one eyed witch's hump again.
He hadn't shown up to watch practice either, and neither had Mary.

weird.
