Chapter 20 - Together again.

Sirius's face fell.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

He took a deep breath.
"I told him to run away with me, that she'd hurt him too" he said. "he said he couldn't go with me, and he asked me to stay...he - he told me not to leave him, but I couldn't live there anymore, I couldn't take it."

I didn't know what to say.
What if Walburga did hurt Regulus?

"He's never going to speak to me again, Robin." said sirius, his voice cracking.

"Of course he will mate, he's your brother!" said James, putting a hand on Surius's shoulder reassuringly.

Sirius shook his head.

"He won't." he said. "I left him alone, he'll never forgive me."

"James is right Pads, he loves you and he'll forgive you." I said "and look, I'll talk to him when we get back to school, OK?"

Sirius half shrugged, half nodded.

I hoped with all my heart that Regulus would still agree to talk to me, and understand why Sirius had done what he'd done.

We talked for a while about random things, like we always do.

Mum said she'd send on my trunk later in the day, so James lent me a jumper, the only thing of his that sort of fitted me.

Mrs.Potter called us down for lunch after a while, and there was a surprise waiting for us in the dining room.

"MOONY!" I squealed, skipping four stairs and running at him.

"ROBIN!" he beamed as I threw my arms around his neck.
"I missed you." he said.

"me too!" I replied, as we pulled apart.

It had only been two weeks, but I really had missed looking into those amber eyes.

"Moons!"
"What's up Remmy boy?"

James and Sirius hollered as they came down the staircase.

"Hey Prongs" said Remus, grinning, then he turned to Sirius, looking concerned.
"Pads, how are you holding up!"

"With you guys here- brilliantly!"
He replied, as Remus pulled him into a hug.

"Awww" cooed James and I, joining the hug.

"Ah this feels wrong without Wormy" James said.

"Yeah, I wonder when he'll get here" added Sirius.

"say no more!" said a voice, and another pair of arms joined the hug.

"Wormy!"
"Finally!"
"And just in time for lunch, eh?"
"what else d'you expect?"
"ahh, give him a break, poor chap, he's here now isn't he-"

Moony had to go home that evening, much to my displeasure.
He promised to drop in occasionally, kissed me goodbye and departed, leaving me giggling like an idiot.

Peter also had to return home that evening, but unlike Remus who went home himself, he was picked up by his mum.

Mum had apperated into the living room sometime after dinner, when she was returning home after her shift at St. Mungo's.

"Here's your trunk, dear, and your toothbrush and - things-" she said, giving me a significant look. "-are in a little bag... you know how to contact me if you need anything."
