I woke up the next morning to the sound of birds chirping and sunlight seeping through the partly opened blinds in my room. I pulled myself out of bed and headed to my bathroom to take a shower. After getting ready for school I headed to the kitchen to have breakfast.
"Hey Tom," I said greeting the chef. "Good morning Ms. Sanders I made you your favorite for breakfast today," he replied as he placed the plate of waffles and a glass of orange juice in front of me. "Thanks a million Tom, by the way how many times have I told you to call me Amy?" I asked. He chuckled and tended to the frying pan on the stove. I gobbled down my food and drank my juice quickly. When I was done I heard Tom mutter something like "some model" but I decided to ignore him. I ate like a pig so what? Just because I'm a model that doesn't mean I have to starve myself does it?
I was waiting for the day to end eagerly. I was so excited about tomorrow I forgot half my books at home. I was grateful though that the day went by quickly. Nothing important happened just the usual. Ji-Ji and Mi-Mi made fun of my "sense of fashion", I got good grades on all my subjects and Eric managed to make every girl he passed drool without even trying.
The next day:
I was so hyper today waiting for school to finish. By the time last period came I was about to burst. While I was in Biology someone knocked on the door. "Mrs. Ross, the principal would like to see Amy Sanders," "Amy, you may be excused," the teacher sighed getting on with her lesson. I practically jumped from my seat from the excitement. I gathered my things and hurried to the principal's office.
I opened the door only to find Ellen crying, a man I've seen before and Eric.
Hold on! Eric! What was he doing here?! And most importantly why was Ellen crying?
I walked in and gave Eric a half smile before turning to Ellen and giving her a what-the-hell look. She got up and threw herself at me. She was clinging so tightly on me I thought I was going to suffocate. "Act along with me," she whispered in my ear.
Okay? What was that supposed to mean? I put my arms around her not really knowing what to do and patted her back "What's the matter Aunt Ellen?" I asked faking a concerned voice. "Your cou-cousin James is in....in a c...cc..coma!" she cried and continued sobbing in my arms. "What?!" I could feel tears well up in my eyes then they let loose (not that I had a cousin named James, but I had to finish our act didn't I?). I think we a pretty good job because the principal began leading us out of his office to my Aunt's BMW. Before I left the door I stole a glance at Eric and saw he had sympathy in his eyes. Obviously he'd believed us or that he was sorry we were such bad actors but either way that didn't really matter. We got to the car and the principal asked my Aunt if there was anything he could do and that I could talk to the school councilor if I needed too. Ellen just thanked him and with that he left.
As soon as he was out of ear shot we burst out laughing. "Did you see his face?" asked Ellen through fits of laughter. "Yeah he totally looked like he was about to cry!" I said while laughing. Tears streamed down my cheeks and my stomach started hurting. We a bit more then head out of the school gates.
"Ellen?"
"Yeah?"
"May I ask since when I had a cousin?" I said jokingly.
"Well I had to come up with something. When I got in the principal's office I found Eric and his manager so that's the first thing that came to mind."
"Uh...what about later today when we g to the show? Won't they be wondering about what happened?"
"Yeah they will but we can just make something up like the show must go on or something."
"What about if they don't believe us?"
