Chapter Two: Presents

All of a sudden streamers, poppers and balloons were all thrown at my face and "Happy Birthdays." Were said and screamed until I was sure I was going to lose my hearing.

"Happy Birthday Kinz, do you like the surprise?" Hannah said with the biggest smile on her face but I suddenly came up with a conclusion.
"Was this planned?" I asked with the biggest smile on my face.
"Well it was planned, but we didn't plan the broken down car that was just Kendall's fault for buying a run down car." She said with a wink and a smirk."Just wait" she said with a chuckle coming out of her mouth.
"Hey that's my beautiful car how can you dis her like that?" Kendall said flinging her arms while pouting. Attempting to defend her small run down blue Toyota.
"Haha see what I mean." Hannah burst out into a whole fit of laughter.

I told the girls I was going to go up, get ready and get out of this swimming costume. I walked up the stairs to my room, grabbed my towel and started to turn on my music. I mean by kind of girl goes into a bathroom without her music? None I tell you, none.
After placing my towel and speakers down. I put my music on shuffle and started the shower. I let the water cascade over my shoulders down my body in a soothing matter, feeling my muscles deflate and relax while the strength of the water massaged my back. As I was showering the song, If you love someone by the Veronicas came on. This was one of my favorite songs and If you know me well enough you would know I sing a lot and when I say a lot I mean it.
So I sang, no coincidence at all.

What was that?
I heard footsteps on my floorboard.
"Hello who's there? I'll be out in a bit just wait"
"Hello Kendy, Luc, Hann, mum?"

Laughing I slowly turned off my shower. Whistling because I knew they were all playing another prank on me and they were all going to jump at me when I got out. So I wrapped myself in my towel and tucked it in the front so it stayed. Then walked out my bathroom door.

Nothing jumped at me, I didn't slip on anything, but something was definitely off. I looked over to my bed and saw the most beautiful dress I have ever seen. It had a red corset that was covered in black lace that also made lace long sleeves that were connected to the corset to cover the chest to the neck, making it nice and elegant. The skirt was a red chiffon that was short at the front and long at the back. The dress also came with a beautiful head piece that went around the head and in the middle dangled a pendant. Shaped as a tear drop. To say it was extravagant was an understatement but I couldn't miss the red black laced pumps at the bottom of the bed placed neatly in their box.
While my brain was processing all this extravagance I couldn't miss that my bedroom window was open.
Like someone had been in here. I walked towards it to look out, but it was too dark to see a thing. There was one thing though one thing I couldn't stop myself from staring at. A pair of dark green near black eyes with a ring of mercury around the pupil. Was staring right back at me with a emotion I could not depict. The eyes were like a drug dragging me in deeper and deeper by the minute. It was infatuating.

I couldn't stop from staring. I felt a pang in my heart and a swirl of butterflies in my belly. I was suddenly enclosed in warmth and security, like a weight was lifted off my shoulders and I was suddenly care free and floating in mid air.

A knock brought me out of my heated stare. I lost all the warmth and security as I looked away. Feeling cold and lonely without the heat.

"Kinz are you alright?"I could hear luc's voice faintly through the door, above the pumping music of the party downstairs.
"Y..yeah um I'll be down in a minute just getting changed."
I heard her walk away from the door and right when she did I turned all my attention to the window again only to find the beautiful pair of eyes gone.

I attempted with all my strength to pull down the window again to find a small leaflet flutter from the lock down to the window sill in front of me. With the window half open I sat on the free space on my bed and unfolded the note.

In neat hand writing scrolled along a beautifully decorated sheet of paper it said...

Happy birthday
I hope you like the dress. Wear it tonight, I can tell if you're not wearing it. I can always tell.
Oh and don't let me forget. I meant what I said you are MINE.
