Hotch stood up, almost falling down. He used his hand to cover his eyes from the sun. The last bit of their strength was used to cry out. Cry out to these helicopters. Unless they were another hallucination... an extreme one.

They weren't.

The rescue choppers infrared picked up what little heat was left in your bodies and they landed in a clear area about half a mile away and picked you all up. They helped everyone over to the helicopter cargo cabin.

As one approached Reid, he saw the situation and went to intervene.

"Sir you can stop compressions." The medic tried to remove Spencer's hands but he didn't want to pull away. He didn't want to stop.

"I-I have to save her..." he was out of breath.

The medic looked at him, placing a hand on his shoulder and said,

"Look you did save her alright? You kept her breathing now let me take over, you're exhausted." Spencer knew that. He slowed his movements even more and let go. The medic immediately took over and called for a stretcher.

They rolled you into the cargo bay where your team was safely waiting.

Spencer stood up and watched them put you in. It was now his turn. He went to take a step but stopped and grabbed his head. It was pounding. The adrenaline passed and he felt everything. He passed out, with the exhaustion finally setting in.

The medics ran over and carried him aboard as well.

No one was too thrilled going back into the air but it was the only way they could get back home. So everyone who was awake gripped support bars and chairs like they thought they were going to crash again. Their knuckles turning white as a result.

They airlifted you to the nearest hospital where Garcia was already impatiently waiting. They allowed her on the roof and when the helicopter landed and she couldn't control her sobs.

They rolled you out first, then Spencer, then the rest walked off. Everyone that was awake received a bear hug.

4 hours later, you woke up in a bed, feeling groggy. The room was bright and white as snow. Your head and stomach didn't hurt anymore. That was the pain killers. God you wouldn't miss those.

"You're awake" Spencer said quietly, not wanting to startle you.

"No no, don't sit up. You were bleeding pretty bad internally." You let out a small sigh as your memory started to come back.

"Is everyone else okay? Are you okay?" You tried to sit up again to which he stopped you.

"They're fine. I'm fine too. JJ is up and walking, Dereks arm will be fine thanks to me..." He smiled and you hit his arm. "...and Emily has a small concussion but she's able to go home." You smiled.

"Thank god..." You muttered.

You remembered you hurt your stomach and you wanted to look at it. You slowly lifted your shirt and let out a big gasp.

"Hey, you don't have to look at that." Spencer grabbed the hand holding your shirt and pulled it down.

Garcia ran in the second she heard voices.

"Oh my god! You're up!" She shouted and you winced and held your head.

"Oh- I'm sorry I didn't mean to be loud. Oh come here you." She gave you a big hug and made sure not to squeeze you too hard. She was so worried for her team but she had everyone now, safe and able to reach you if needed.

You could tell she knew that you both confessed your feelings at the campsite. Derek. She was smiling a lot more but seeing everyone again also contributed to that.

One by one, your team filed in to check up on you. Derek gave you a small wave and Hotch smiled and nodded.

"Glad you're alright kid." Rossi kissed you on your cheek.

After some talking and discussing what actually happened those last 5 days, they left the room to you and Spencer.

"Back to our conversation earlier.." You began looking up at Spencer.

"You heard." He smiled.

"Of course I did. It worked you know. It kept me awake. For a little while at least." You laugh. Maybe too much because you started to cough. He rubbed your back and gave you some water. Yes, water. You had almost forgotten what that tasted like.

The doctors rushed in ruining the nice conversation you two were having. They explained that they wanted to do another surgery because your recent scans came back and they showed a spot in your stomach that was still bleeding. You didn't have a choice and before you knew it they were prepping you.

"Wait, before you take her!" Spencer stood up. You look over and furrow your eyebrows.

"I have to do something." He turned to cup your cheek and kissed you. His lips were soft and gentle. Your lips met like puzzle pieces. Perfect.

He pulled away and he watched as you were rolled off. You smile at him and he smiles back, putting his hands in his pockets. Something he did when he was nervous. Although he didn't need to be.

You pass the surgery doors and he waits for you to get out of surgery.

Several hours of waiting and you were back in recovery. You stayed in the hospital for over a month recovering. The bruises faded like the last petals of summer, kissed purple and yellow as the hue of your skin returned.

Derek visited you every scan he got and Spencer never left your bedside. If a case were to come up, he would work with you or with Garcia on the technical part or through video chat if he was needed.

But during that month only 1 case arrived and thankfully it was in state. Thank you killers for that one.

You all were all going to need help recovering physically and mentally but eventually you were all able to take a plane again without the underlying fear of crashing. Sure it still lingered in the back of your minds but you were all able to do your jobs again. And you had a new boyfriend to help you.
