They do live in their pocket dimension, but it's for different reasons. Inv!Ava doesn't have the financial support that Canon!Ava does from her parents, so her apparent is much smaller, meaning there's no room for them to stay with her.
They also first asked if they could make it instead of them just doing it.

Noi: [You hug him. He doesn't hug you back but he does rest his head on your shoulder, which is more than enough coming from him]
