HAWKINS BLEEDING! CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT:
CODE RED
The three girls rode a bike to the house with the red door in the pouring rain. They needed to figure out how it was connected. "This it?" El nodded. They walked up to the front door and El used her powers to open the door. They walked into the house and saw pictures of Heather.
"This is her House" Stephenie muttered
"Who?"
"Heathers" They walked into the dinning room where they heard laughing and saw Billy.
Billy didn't like Stephenie being friends with Max—Mostly because what she did last year and just for being a Harrington.
"Max" Billy looked up "Stephenie" he said looking over to her... but he didn't say it in a hostile tone like he normally did. He said it in a friendly and surprised look.
"We don't mean to barge in but, we tried to knock but you Maybe didn't hear us because of the storm" Max said
"I'm sorry, who is this dripping all over my living room right now?" The women asked
Billy chuckled "oh, I'm sorry, Janet, Tom. This is my sister Maxine and her friend Stephenie Harrington" he said getting up and walking over to them
"Oh!" Janet said
"What are you doing here, is something wrong?" Billy asked.
"We just wanted to make sure everything was okay" Stephenie said
"Okay? Why wouldn't everything be okay?"
"Where is she?" El questioned
"I'm sorry, where is Who?"
"Well there a little burnt, I'm sorry" Heather came out of the kitchen and stopped when she saw the girls
"Heather, this is my sister Maxine, her friend Stephanie Harrington and I'm sorry I did not quite catch your name"
"El"
"El, now I'm sorry you what were you saying, you were were looking for somebody?"
"I-I saw yo—" El started to say
"Your manager, he said you guys didn't come in today, so we wanted to come check on you" Stephenie covered up for El
"Heather wasn't feeling to hot today so we thought we'd take the day off and nurse her back to health, but your feeling just fine right now, aren't you Heather?"
"I'm feeling so much better" Heather smiled "Do you girls want a cookie? there fresh out of the oven" Stephenie shook her head, before they left
The girls left picking up there bikes, and going back to Max's house for the night
"Whitch one?" Max said holding up two magazines to choose
"I don't know" Stephenie said
"Hey, theres nothing to worry about anymore"
"It doesn't make sense"
"What doesn't make sense"
"Heather, the red door, the ice"
"Heather had a cold so she took a cold bath and she's better now"
"But what about Billy?"
"What about him"
"He seemed off"
"Off is his default, it's nice to know he isn't a murderer cause that would've totally sucked"
They all laughed
"Who... is that" El said pointing at the wonder women comic
"See, this is why you can't hangout with Mike all the time. See this is wonder women"
"AKA princess diana, she's from paradise island which, is like this hidden island where there are only women Amazon warriors."
The next morning the girls woke up to radio static, from Max's walkie
"This is a code red, Max do you copy? Max, this this is a code red! Do you copy?"
"Shut.....up" Max said putting the walking down and turning it off
The next thing was the phone.
"Oh you've got to be kidding me" Stephenie said getting up and answering the phone
"Were sleeping go away" Stephenie went to hang up
"Stephenie, This is Mike. Do not hang up. Something happened, something bad. Our very lives could be at steak"
"What are you talking about?" She asked
"Just come over to my house, We'll explain everything"
"What"
"Hurray" then mike hung up
"What did he say" El asked, Stephanie just stood there
El, Stephanie and Max rode down to Mikes house going in the basement.
"I didn't think anything of it at first, I think I just didn't want to believe it. The first time I felt it was at day of the dead.
"The power went out that night too"
"Then I felt it again near Nelson farm, then again yesterday outside castle Byers"
"What does it feel like?"
"You Know when you drop on a roller coaster?"
"Sure"
"Yeah"
"No"
"It's like, your whole body is just sinking all at once and your body....it goes cold and you can't breathe" Will explained
"I've felt it before. Whenever he was close"
"Whenever Who was close."
"The mind flayer"
Stephenie looked around and made eye contact with El.
"Steph has been having weird dreams, lately" El said making everyone look at Stephenie
"Is that true Steph?" Will said concerned. Stephenie nodded.
"What do you see in them?" Mike asked
"When it happens I get light headed, then it goes black and I wake up somewhere different, somewhere weird and then after I get pulled back and then flashes of random stuff go in my head. then I wake up and I'm back. The first night it happened was when I got back from seeing Dustin and then, yesterday after the mall."
"What did you see, Stephenie" Mike asked
"The first time I woke up at the steel works and a bunch of rats forming into this thing and then I got pulled back and the flashes were someone going through bricks, a pole hitting off something and fireworks. The whole time I heard screaming that wasn't my own. The second time I woke up but this time it was black. I saw someone hovering over a girl. So I walked closer and saw Heather Holloway and Billy."
"Max's brother, Billy?" Lucas asked. Stephenie was starting to to tear up.
"Yeah" Stephenie nodded "she was whimpering, screaming, S-She was so scared and then Billy turned and looked right at me. Then I got pulled back a-again and saw a hospital, Billy hovering me, a red door, and elevator and the feeling of being C-Chocked"
"When we went to Heathers house her door was red" El said
"The exact red door I saw" Stephenie said
"What is those aren't dreams. What if there visions?" Mike said
"It's never happened before, it has to be related, Wills feeling and my 'visions' it has to be." Stephenie said
"But I closed the gate"
"I know but, What if he never left. What if we locked him out here. With us" will said
"This is him." Will drew black chalk on a pice of paper "that day on the field, part of it attached itself to me." Will hit his hand onto the chalk, leaving his hand covered in to "My mom got it out of me, and eleven closed the gate. What if it's still in our world? in Hawkins" Will turned the paper and hit his hand on the blank side, creating a hand print
"I don't understand, the demo dogs died when El closed the gate. The brain dies the body dies" Max said
"We can't take any chances. We need to assume the worse. The mind flayers back"
"Yeah, and if he is. He'd want to attach its self to someone again. A new me"
"A new host" Stephenie, El and Max made eye contact for a second
"How can you tell if someone's a host?" Stephenie asked
